I got a text from the building manager (the head RA basically) for my student apartment saying they tried to call and that if I need help they’re here and they have resources for me. Bro my poli sci professor DEFINITELY contacted the counseling department 😭😭😭

man, what the hell. I just got an email and a voicemail from our counseling center saying they’re offering me their services and none of my friends have gotten the email. So either a professor alerted them or they have on my file from ‘22 that I’m Fucked Up 💀

I think I can finally begin to miss and mourn basil instead of being in constant pain that the university didn’t have our backs

Today, Basil’s community staged a protest against the university in the wake of their mishandling of his suicide. Afterwards, we went to the student government meeting where we successfully helped pass a formal resolution condemning the university’s actions (or honestly lack thereof).

I’m just so proud of everyone I could cry all over again. The dean who was responsible for communication apologized and heard each and every one of our demands. The entire philosophy club came out in support, and Basil’s friends had their voices heard. Student government not only gave us the floor but actively agreed with us and gave us action items. I’m exhausted, but it was so worth it.

I love you lots sweet Basil. Your friends did so right by you today.

Hi Millie! In terms of comics, I’ve been someone who’s only really read The Sandman. I want to branch out more, and read some Justice League Dark, etc… but don’t really know where to start. I was scrolling around a bit and came across Justice League Dark the New 52 Omnibus and the collection of Paul Dini’s Zatanna stories. In your opinion, are these a decent place to get started? Thanks!

The sandman universe has a lot of material! I’d say focus on what you liked about the sandman and try and branch off from there.

- Death: the High Cost Of Living

- Death: The Time of Your Life

- The Moore run of Swamp Thing and also Veitch

I could recommend Hellblazer but it’s a pretty serious undertaking with 300 issues so that’s up to you to decide.

Anyway, Zatanna’s series is cute. I’d totally recommend that over the New 52 JLD bc it sucks. But you might find it worthwhile to read it later on. JLD 2018 is a vast improvement.

Hi Millie sorry to bother you with this ask, do u have any suggestions or idea on how to avoid same face syndrome when drawing characters?? Like it's hard to make a face even if there's a reference....like this 2 characters are clearly different when I draw them but when I put them together somehow...they look likes twins...even if it's male or female... it's somehow the same face with just different hair..

You’re never bothering me babe! I don’t have much advice on same face syndrome unfortunately. When I draw two figures I make sure to add details that are subtly different. When I draw death and zee together, death has a different skin tone palette and distinct makeup. So honestly I convey difference using color and I’m not great on helping with pencils….one thing I recommend is finding good face claims and reference images for each character and sticking with that! I use Dita and Ava Gardner a lot for Zee and various goth icons for Death. I’m sorry I can’t give more concrete advice!
