Hitoshi: I don't care about what people think of me. My only goal is to be a hero, and I'll do anything for it without any tedious distractions such as friends.

so the house of representatives just passed a bill that will now move to the senate to BAN tik tok completely in the united states and they are expected to argue that “national security risks” outweigh the freedom of speech and first amendment rights. biden has already said that if it gets to him, he will sign it. whether or not you use the app…….this is something to be worried about

Good Traits Gone Bad
Exploring good traits gone bad in a novel can add depth and complexity to your characters. Here are a few examples of good traits that can take a negative turn:
1. Empathy turning into manipulation: A character with a strong sense of empathy may use it to manipulate others' emotions and gain an advantage.
2. Confidence becoming arrogance: Excessive confidence can lead to arrogance, where a character belittles others and dismisses their opinions.
3. Ambition turning into obsession: A character's ambition can transform into an unhealthy obsession, causing them to prioritize success at any cost, including sacrificing relationships and moral values.
4. Loyalty becoming blind devotion: Initially loyal, a character may become blindly devoted to a cause or person, disregarding their own well-being and critical thinking.
5. Courage turning into recklessness: A character's courage can morph into reckless behavior, endangering themselves and others due to an overestimation of their abilities.
6. Determination becoming stubbornness: Excessive determination can lead to stubbornness, where a character refuses to consider alternative perspectives or change their course of action, even when it's detrimental.
7. Optimism becoming naivety: Unwavering optimism can transform into naivety, causing a character to overlook dangers or be easily deceived.
8. Protectiveness turning into possessiveness: A character's protective nature can evolve into possessiveness, where they become overly controlling and jealous in relationships.
9. Altruism becoming self-neglect: A character's selflessness may lead to neglecting their own needs and well-being, to the point of self-sacrifice and burnout.
10. Honesty becoming brutal bluntness: A character's commitment to honesty can turn into brutal bluntness, hurting others with harsh and tactless remarks.
These examples demonstrate how even admirable traits can have negative consequences when taken to extremes or used improperly. By exploring the complexities of these traits, you can create compelling and multi-dimensional characters in your novel.
Happy writing!

Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.

Personally, I love Hitoshi but I absolutely understand the criticism, he's a pretty ridiculous character and that's what makes me love him.
He's 100% that kid who thinks he's in a movie and Class A is just really confused.
I just accept that he's pretty much an arrogant asshole and not some UWU bullied shy kid. It makes it fun to knock him down multiple pegs.
Shinsou stans don't seem to like it if you point out that he 100% believed he was entitled to get into the heroics course purely based on his Quirk alone.
I wrote a one shot where Ojiro and Izuku are talking about that (since Izuku canonically calls him out on it during their fight), Shinsou's own Quirkism against Ojiro, and how it makes him and Aizawa not look good, and I got a shit ton of Shinsou defenders in my comments section - even though it was tagged and marketed in the notes as a not Shinsou friendly fic.
"He was only trying to rile Izuku up!" And why did he repeatedly use Ojiro's mutant status to do so? He referred to him as 'monkey' both out loud and to himself. He could have said literally anything else.
"Izuku also believed he could get into the heroics course without working for it!" And not only does All Might make him face reality, Izuku himself acknowledges that he was "chasing a pipe dream" - his own words.
I don't think I read that one but I would be more than happy to read it if you leave a link to it here!
Yeah like many other antis on here I don't like Shinsou at all. I already made a post about my thoughts on him but all I'm gonna say on what I think is that he IS an entitled brat who thinks he deserves to be in the hero course without the work and effort.
But jeez sorry that happened to you. It feels like sometimes these stans purposefully look for fics talking bad about their favorite characters so they can leave those kinds of comments.
If I happen to come across a fic that talks bad about a character I like, I just scroll by it and look for one I like... something that these stans don't seem to understand.

ok but a detroit: become human AU?? bakugo’s a “defective” (deviant) army android prototype that some sicko messed with and installed rocket blasters into his hands. human and budding engineer kirishima buys him at a secondhand market for an extortionate amount of money, and is determined to fix him.
for safety reasons, the secondhand market staff removed bakugo’s lower arms (they have literal explosives in them), but kirishima puts them back on in a very brave, some may say stupid display of trust.
bakugo doesn’t have a very good opinion of humans, rightfully so, but maybe kirishima can prove there are exceptions.

The Adoption of Zenitsu Agatsuma
Tumblr media
After months of trying, I recently convinced my wife to take up Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. We made our way through the initial episodes, which she enjoyed, but I became more and more excited for her to meet one character in particular—Zenitsu. I was anticipating how she would react to seeing his extreme cowardice, and then the reveal both of his inner character and his capabilities. Hints of this are first shown as he battles a demon in the tsuzumi mansion, but it’s all fleshed out during the Natagumo Mountain arc. It’s because of his story there, as portrayed through a flashback showing his training, that Zenitsu became my favorite character.
Zenitsu’s battle against the spider demon on Natagumo Mountain is as unusual as one would expect, with the demon slayer running from his enemy as much as possible. But when he can no longer flee, and is on death’s doorstep, he remembers his training as given by “Gramps.” It’s as pathetic as one can imagine—his sensei must set traps that prevent Zenitsu from escaping the training, and literally drags him back to the dojo at which he practices. When first introduced in the series, Zenitsu appears to have become a coward after facing the reality of fighting demons; the flashback makes it clear that he was this way even prior.
At one point, Zenitsu is bullied by by Kuwajima’s other student, Kaigaku, who berates him for his cowardice and even physically assaults him. Kaigaku says that any time sensei spends on Zenitsu is wasted—he treats his comrade as worthless, as nothing—a feeling, I think, Zenitsu knows all too well.
Tumblr media
Unlike Inosuke, Zenitsu is incredible self-aware—more so even than Tanjirou. At one point, he explains that he’s the one acting normal in all this craziness, which makes much sense—who would willingly fight these awful creatures and endure “hellish training”? He also plainly knows he is a coward. Zenitsu’s actions, his sleep-induced berserker quality aside, are done with foresight. He complains because he feels that the situation calls for it, but also understands that the way he acts is miserable. Nothing Kaigaku says is news to Zenitsu—they’re precisely how he feels about himself.
