WILLOW x CARDIGAN MUSIC VIDEO THEORY

Hi guys! Following the release of the Willow music video we wanted to share our thoughts on how this eras two videos connect with each other!

This whole place is so nostalgic, innocent and beautiful, and could represent FEARLESS era. She is living her dream, happy, and finding comfort in her music.

She is grasping on to her music here, and obviously is dealing with a lot of turmoil. This brings forward thoughts of Dear John and the Kanye incident, among others, representing SPEAK NOW.

Here, there are ‘autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place’, representing RED. We can also see the waterfall from the Cardigan video behind the willow tree, telling us that evermore and folklore are in the same world. 

This scene shows an actress/performer, trapped in a glass box (similar to the fishbowl in the Lover video, representing 1989). She is being watched, examined, and cannot get out - relating to the media attention she got during the 1989 era. This is the first time Taylor sees ‘Joe’, but the time isn’t right and they can’t reach each other. She notices the (invisible) gold string, and follows it (down the rabbit hole). 

This scene is definitely reminiscent of REPUTATION era, with the ‘Ready For It?...’ hood, and its reference to witches. 

‘They’re burning all the witches even if you aren’t one.’

‘Joe’ is also here, in a gold mask, helping to cast this spell. Taylor said that the song sounds like ‘casting a spell to make someone fall in love with you’.

Taylor follows the gold string until its end, and it leads to ‘Joe’ in the LOVER era. They walk out of the cabin to continue their adventures in this folklore/evermore era. 

‘A single thread of gold tied me to you.’

LWYMMD mv easter eggs

Given the recent “cover” of Look What You Made Me Do featured on Killing Eve, in which seems to have been teased in the EW photoshoot, I had another look at the LWYMMD music video. Within the video there seems to be many references to the number three (3 watches placed on the ground, 3 cars in the background, 3 huge chandeliers). I noticed this a while ago but thought nothing of it. Until I realised that this year will mark three years since the LWYMMD mv was released. 

As it aprouches three years since this iconic album was released, Taylor has RERELEASED the rep merch and referenced the albums second track (end game) in a post using three i’s.

If the 15 Taylors theory (relating to each taylor at the end of the LWYMMD mv) is true, that would make the Taylor holding the baseball bat End Game. (The song Taylor refereced the day before announcing The City of Lover concert). This is the same Taylor that, within the music video, says the line “But you’ll all get yours” when talking about Karma. 

Does this all point to, three years later, Taylor giving us Karma (the album)?

Hi everyone! The other day we finally got to put together all of our Deluxe CD’s, all 2 Deluxe Rep magazines and all 4 Lover Deluxe Versions into one absolutely adorable photoshoot. I’m so estatic to say that we now own all of Taylor’s albums on Deluxe CD and Vinyl! We thought we could also introduce you to our beautiful little kitty, Sooty, who seemed to take a liking to Deluxe Version 2 more than the others.
