The year has come to an end (in a very unusual way), I can’t believe it’s true.
Before you know it, you’ll be moving on to somewhere new.
It seems like only yesterday you entered second grade,
Think of all the fun we’ve had, and all the progress that you’ve made.
We’ve studied things like phonics, math, reading, and writing.
We also learned to do our best, and solve disagreements without fighting.
We’ve grown as learners and as friends, but now it’s time to go.
Before you leave, there’s something important, I’d like for you to know.
You came in and touched my heart, in a very special way.
Although you move on, I hope you know that in my heart you will stay!
Congratulations on all of your hard work and efforts completing Grade 2! You should be proud of everything that you have accomplished. Continue to build the skills you have learned over the summer. Also, feel free to share your summer activities over the break by submitting to our class website. See you all when we return to school!

Please check your e-mail for Learn at Home expectations for this week June 22-26. If you have not received it, please check your JUNK MAIL folder. (Note: Students working on an IEP were additionally sent a second email with appropriate Math worksheets for them to complete). REMINDER: Math assessments are to be completed on www.iknowit.com INDEPENDENTLY online. Assessments can be accessed Wednesday-FRIDAY and should be completed after the lessons and practice pages have been completed. Work samples should be sent back as pdf via email by Thursday , June 25th at 3 p.m. in order to receive feedback. If you have not yet submitted last week’s assignments (including your photo message), please do so as soon as possible. Pictures not submitted by tomorrow will not be able to be included. If you did not receive an email response regarding the work or picture submission, then it was not received. Please try sending the files again. Today is Portugal Day or Dia de Portugal. June 10 commemorates the death of national literary icon Luis Vaz de Camoes in 1580. People all across Portugal and in the city of Toronto, celebrate this cultural day. Although festivities will be quite different this year, enjoy the celebration at a distance!
