What colours I associate with The Secret History characters and why:

Francis: Orange/gold. Francis gives me “honey” vibes, somebody brilliant but sometimes so direct it stings, more like when you are biting an orange or a tangerine and that bitter, sudden taste hits your throat.

Charles: Charles gives me blue/navy blue vibes. He might appear calm, steady, more like the ocean really early in the morning, but when somebody decides to challenge the sea at night, they will understand how much this poor boy is really hiding and how sad he is. Call an ambulance.

Henry: Mr Winter is obviously a shade of green, more like emerald. A precious stone, sparkling and expensive, rich, but really hard on the inside, even though he appears to everyone as somebody you must have in your life, no matter what costs.

Camilla: Like her brother, she's a shade of blue, but a lighter one; a wonderful colour that hides sadness, worrying, desire, conspiracy, depression, a love frozen in time.

Richard: Our dear Richard is a shade of bourgeois red, a romantic color hiding passion, loyalty, energy, but also bravery and strength. We see Richard as the main character for one reason, and red is the “main character vibes” color.

Bunny: At the end, we find Bunny Corcoran, our racist, homophobic, misogynistic fella. His colour is a purple, colour that I automatically associate with envy, greed, suspicion, opportunism, but seen as a beautiful colour from the outside.
