I'm usually always doodling something whenever I get the chance, but I have a bad habit of not showing it off very much.
Anyhoo, here's another ref study from last week that I did as a challenge to see how fast I could pull off an ink drawing in its entirety. I think I managed quite well considering my ability to be distracted by virtually anything else going on around me... 👁👁
Took around 3 - 4 hrs ☄

Trying my best to put a little time aside everyday to doodle!... (and managing to succeed a least half of the time)

Happy Miku day (for yesterday)!!
---
It feels odd seeing colour on here...
I recently got a new drawing tablet so I'll be doing a bunch of experiment pieces in order to get the hang of using the thing. I'll still be doodling with my beloved ink, but expect a mixture of both digital and traditional from here on out!
I look forward to showing you all more 🌠

手の目 "Tenome"
From a distance one would not think much of an elderly guildsman attending a graveyard. However drawing closer anyone would be startled at the sight of this seemingly ordinary man's true form. Hands outstretched into the surrounding darkness as if reaching for something that isn't there, the man shuffles his way through the tombstones appearing lost. A lone visitor that strays too close would soon find themselves as live prey, as the man turns revealing a gaunt, almost featureless face and piercing eyes centered upon each palm of his clawed hands.
Although the creeping monster appears scrawny, once the Tenome sets its sights on its victim there's virtually no chance of escape. With lightning speed, the unfortunate soul's bones are sucked from the body leaving only a morbid shell of loose skin behind.

赤マント "Aka Manto"
A schoolyard urban legend that supposedly arose in the 1930's. The legend has many variations that have changed with each passing generation, but one particular detail always remains; a cloaked figure in red donning a disturbing mask appears before the victim.
If a student in dire need of the toilet finds themselves rushing into a stall without thinking, they could be heading straight to their doom. It is said that in most restrooms there is a certain stall that is unused and in bad shape, most students choose to avoid it as rumours of hauntings surround it. But in desperate times one cannot be picky!
Whilst in the stall and finishing up their business, the victim realises no toilet paper is available. As if the situation couldn't get any worse, suddenly an eerie voice is heard asking them whether they would prefer 'red paper' or 'blue paper'.
Depending on the answer a different fate is in store, unfortunately both are equally as terrible.
Answering with red paper has the masked assailant reveal themselves and stab the victim violently, blood staining their uniform mimicking that of a red cloak. The other answer has the student drowned or body drained of blood, turning their face a shade of blue.

I'm going to attempt to post more rough sketches on here, regardless of quality. That way it'll seem more organic and hopefully motivate me (despite my last post claiming that already) to get stuff on here more often!
Art's the journey not necessarily the end result, so allow me to share that with you. 🌟

狛犬 "Komainu"
Unlike many of the creatures found throughout Japanese mythology that appear to humans as a bad omen or even a threat, this particular Yokai is seen as a protector.
Usually in pairs, these noble deities are often found in front of shrines guarding holy grounds. Their imposing figures resembling that of both a lion and a dog are said to be enough to prevent any wickedness from entering.

❗SPOOKY UPDATE❗
I hope you all had a joyous yet terrifying Halloween ! 👹
A small update on the Inktober stuff...
We didn't quite reach all 31 yokai but I had a feeling that'd be the case, regardless it was fun and interestingly we hit 24 days which was the exact number as last year... at least we're consistently behind schedule?
Anyway I do intend to finish all the remaining yokai but due to work and time restrictions they will be coming out at slightly more irregular intervals.
Just thought I'd fill you in, thanks for reading, and checking out my silly doodles! Your support is ever inspiring ★
