One of the funniest things about people talking about how horrendous Mystra is to Gale throughout their whole relationship is that learning more about Mystra shows that she has historically not made the wisest decisions

Like during the Time of Troubles where all the Gods besides Helm were made mortal. The main reason was because of Bane and Myrkul were dumbasses and stole the tablets of fate. But the main reason was that the Gods had historically been dumb shits so Ao(The Goddest God) decided to make all the Gods mortals to teach em a lesson.

Now the main thing that everyone remembers from that is The Dark Three(Bhaal, Bane, and Myrkul) fucking dying from multiple causes, but my favorite death(Although temporary) has to be Mystra's from how avoidable it was.

Mystra decided "Hey, I need to go back to the Heavens, Ao knows I wasn't a part of this, so I should be fine!"So she went up and was stopped by Helm because, of course, she wasn't allowed to.

And in her """""INFINITE WISDOM""""" decided that she could take on Helm despite the fact that

A. Helm is the God of Guardians and is actually in his full divine form

and B. She was in her MORTAL FORM, so despite being strong, she still was going against a FULL FUCKIN GOD.

And obviously, she was literally obliterated entirely forcing her to reincarnate into someone else.

So yeah, Mystra is dumb as FUCK(So are most of the gods but we're focusing on Mystra)

So to anticipate for Baldur’s Gate 3 I replayed the first one and it’s fuckin bizarre thinking about the fact that the main character of that game is 20

Like bud,,, you and I are the same age, you should be a college student not a warrior hellbent on destruction… go take a nap, be depressed, and try to make it to your classes.

(Also there’s a bunch of other weird fuckin stuff like Jaheira being romancable in 2 despite basically being your aunt, the fact they can become a god, everything with the fact that all the people they loved growing up just up and cut them off the second they left candlekeep and whatnot but I’m not unpacking all that right now I’m too busy making my tiefling barbarian save the shadowlands in 3)

Recently bear Dragon Age Origins and its expansions

And Goddamn is that game really fuckin’ good

I love a lot of the characters btw, like a lot of their banter, their personalities, and their relationships all are just so neat to me.

Also really love like, the lore and world building, even if some parts of it are kinda, ech, by today’s standards

Also the idea of all those origins is cool as hell to me, even if it just changes like, the first hour of the game.

Also I am definitely gonna play 2 and Inquisition as a Mage in each game, because of how much cool shit I missed out on as a basic bitch Warrior.

Also hilarious how the final ending to the game is just, walk through portal with goth gf to some other bumfuck part of the universe while your dog watches.

but it’s also a really nice ending to me because it’s like, your Warden basically just decides that they’ve done all they wanted to, settled their affairs, and just went “Time to take my dog and just fuck off from all this bullshit”, considering how chaotic the world is, which hits harder if you had a City Elf origin like I chose, because they’ve gone from being oppressed, to saving the world, to saving their own land, and just deciding to leave it all behind to go with the one they love.

Idk something about it just scratched my fantasy itch that I don’t think even mass effect did when I played it. Might post more about the series as I play through it idk.

Also I saw some of the gameplay of Dreadwolf and now I’m even more excited bc it looks so fuckin cool!!!!!

I think one of the parts of Godwyn's fate which is the saddest part is the fact that he was literally the only demigod Ranni could have killed.

Like I know people may think otherwise but you have to think about the demigods that Ranni knew.

She probably didn't know Morgott or Mohg even existed.

Radahn and Rykard were her brothers so she couldn't do it to them.(Or if you think she didn't care for them, she still needed Rykard's help as she gave him the Blasphemous Claw, and Radahn likely could have killed the Black Knives easily, considering his Mastery over magic).

And Malenia and Miquella were Empyreans and incredibly powerful in their own right, making killing them unlikely.

The fact of the matter is that Godwyn was the optimal choice because:

A: He's the eldest Demigod (I think) and was the best of Marika's children, so killing him would have affected Marika greatly

B: He's one of the most worshipped members of the Golden Order, so it would have impacted them even more

and C: He didn't have a guard assigned to him like Malenia and Miquella would have as Empyreans (Because I'm pretty sure Empyreans all have Shadows given to them)

And along with that, Ranni probably would have had ZERO reasons to have a grudge against Godwyn, because he was born before Radagon left Rennala, he wasn't responsible for anything that happened to Ranni and her family, hell he probably understood her somewhat considering his father was sent away by Marika.

Godwyn was the biggest victim of everyone affected by the Night of Black Knives. He was betrayed by his half-sister, held down, and had Literal Death injected into him, but was not even allowed to die fully, as only his Soul was killed, but not his body.
