The onslaught of stories about Covid deniers dying of Covid robs us of our humility by undermining out empathy for others.
I feel schadenfreude when I learn that a Covid denier has died of Covid, particularly when the dead person is a talk radio host or somebody else with a megaphone and pulpit. I read reddit.com/r/HermanCainAward and reddit.com/r/LeopardsAteMyFace.

Hundreds of current and former Apple employees are complaining about abuse, sexual harassment, pay inequity, retaliation, discrimination, and unsafe work conditions. Apple’s “toxic” culture of secrecy makes matters worse, said Christine Dehus, who worked at Apple for five years and left in August. “On one hand, yes, I understand the secrecy piece is important for product security, to surprise and delight customers. But it bleeds into other areas of the culture where it is prohibitive and damaging.”
However, Apple is looking into measures to protect its employees against Texas’s abortion restrictions. Medical insurance will help pay for Apple workers in Texas to fly to other states for an abortion.
