          the  other’s  short  story  resulted in  a  chuckle  from  mitch,  much  needed  after  the  rather  stressful  day  he’s  had.  “not  in  the  slightest.  i  mean,  not  by  anyone  besides  my  own  family,  at  least.  my  grandfather  constantly  mistakes  me  for  one  of  my  cousins  and  then  proceeds  to  mistake  him  for  me…  in  his  defense,  he’s  bordering  ninety  years  old,  so,”  he  shrugs  casually,  “we  give  him  a  pass,  but  no,  never  been  mistaken  by  a  supposed  fan  like  that.”  still,  he’s  grinning  widely.  “i  would  have  definitely  played  along.  you  know,  sang  a  song  or  two,  just  to stir the pot  a  bit.”  mitch  never  had  good  advice  for  these  situations,  but  it  was  definitely  something  he  would  have  done.

"had someone ask for a selfie with me today. thought, wow, i'm kinda getting famous for real, huh? when i was walking away, though, i heard them telling their friends that oh my god, they just took a photo with some guy in a boy band who is definitely not me." he chuckles. "i guess i needed that to keep me humble." sighing, they ask, "have you been mistaken for someone else too or am i just that much of a flop?"

          mitch  is  great  at  keeping  his  composure  (  publicly,  at  least  ).  years  in  the  business  have  taught  him  that  much.  it’s  no  surprise  that  his  face  doesn’t  falter  the  slightest  bit  at  ocean’s  question,  despite  the  fact  that  he  wants  to  cackle,  like,  really,  really  bad.  “oh…  a  race  driver?”  he’s  positive  his  composure  will  remain  intact  until  those  words  slip  from  his  lips.  the  cool  and  stoic  face  he  once  carried  cracks,  laughter  erupting  from  his  rosy  pink  lips.  “no,  no,  sorry,  i  just…”  he  clears  his  throat,  biting  back  another  laugh  and  somehow,  managing  to  stuff  it  down.  “i  cannot  imagine  you  as  an  actual  race  driver  unless  it’s  a  role  you’re  playing.  you  most  definitely  are  a  literal angel  and  hey  –  you  said  it,  not  me!”

          with a  mentos  flavored  vape  stuffed  inside  his  front  pocket,  mitch  isn’t  unfamiliar  with  smoking.  he  likes  to  tell  himself  that  it’s  a  step  up  from  actual  cigarettes,  though,  he  knows  he’s  only  fooling  himself.  deep  down  inside,  he  doesn’t  particularly  care  about  the  health  risks  –  he  just  has  to  pretend  like  he  does,  like  he’s  actually  making  an  attempt  to  stop  or  whatever  the  fuck.  “oh,  i  know  a  hangover  when  i  see  one.  word  of  advice?  foods  high  in  fat.  it  just…”  he  makes  a  motion  with  his  hand,  “sucks  it  all  up.  or…  pop  two  advil’s  before  a  party.  you’ll  wake  up  like  new.”  not  that  he  would  know.  truthfully,  he’s  never  had  a  hangover  in  his  life,  but  from  what  he’s  heard  and  the  people  he’s  hung  out  with,  it  apparently  works  like  a  charm.  “if  it  makes  you  feel  any  better,  i  doubt  anyone  will  notice.”

        cigarette  is  poised  in  left  hand  —  a  nasty  habit  developed  in  her  teen  years  that  said  fuck  you  to  the  cult  like  health  culture  embedded  in  the  city,  as  she  reclines  lazily  in  chair.  despite  opting  out  of  annual  white  party  nesrin  is  SUFFERING  through  a  hangover,  prada  sunglasses  heroically  shielding  exhausted  optics  from  the  harsh  sun.  “  god,   please  tell  me  i'm  not  suffering  alone.  ”  while  peering  over  tinted  shades  her  free  hand  massages  tension  radiating  in  temples.  “  i'm  thinking  i'll  have  to  break  things  off,  don  julio  is  an  evil  bastard.  ”
