- and you’re not pushy with having him talk to you, and you also give him space when you can tell he’s not in the mood to socialize, which he greatly appreciates

- but he does eventually open up to you and then you both become close

a/n: recently i’ve been having a mitsuri obsession, i got her sword and decided to do a cosplay, but then it didnt fit so i had to return it and im yet to buy a different one 0_0. i also made a shit ton of stickers of her and those pink manga pictures of her. so heres a little lesbian moment bc i love her. /hj

also: this is inspired by the song softly by clairo bc i think the song fits mitsuri rlly well but this one shot turned out rlly bad so i think i’m gonna rewrite it later kahwhwvheaikwhwi. anyways i hope you enjoy ig?? lmfao

the hashira meeting went well, oyataka-sama was pleased at the accomplishments of the all the pillars, and the growing ranks of the demon slayers.

the weather was lovely with silver clouds blanketing the sky, only allowing a few rays of sunlight to slip through them. the morning air was crisp and the temperature was cool.

you had only joined the hashira recently. being new to the group, you didn’t know any of them.

you still had feelings of inferiority, kindled from your past, thinking that you may have been the wrong choice to fill a hashira spot. so the fact that some of them scared you was not helping.

you were always shy around new people, but you would always find a way to make friends with them. but these people were different. you thought that maybe you’d never be able to make friends with them.

But there was one who didn’t scare you. In fact, she made you feel welcomed, and whenever you were with her, those feelings of inferiority and fear vanished and were replaced with warm and fuzzy ones.

her name is mitsuri kanroji.

being around her was filled with a feeling of pure bliss. she made you smile and laugh and just feel happy. a feeling you haven’t had in a long time.

you often got paired for missions together since your breathing styles complemented one another and you worked very well together. also because oyataka-sama noticed your growing fondness for her. and hers for you.

it’s funny because oyataka-sama noticed that you were in love before you even did. and that was part of the reason he so often paired you both on missions together.

however, you soon began to realize it yourself.

you were about to leave for another mission with mitsuri when you heard a knock on the front door or your estate.

“one sec!” you called out to whoever was knocking.

buttoning the last button of your jacket and slipping your haori over your shoulders on your way to the door. you opened it to the pleasant surprise of a certain pink sakura haired girl.

“hi y/n!!” she said with much enthusiasm.

smiling, you replied, “hi kanroji! would you like to come in? i still need to do one last thing then we can leave,”

“yes please!”

she was already dressed in her corps uniform. the female uniform for the demon slayers was quite slutty and revealing, but cute nonetheless. you always thought it looked better on her than you, which you had told her many times. but she insisted your breasts were perfect and looked great in it. but seriously who the hell designed them?

you grabbed your katana and offered her tea since you technically didn’t have to leave for another half hour.

“why did you come so early, kanroji?” you asked.

“oh, um well,… i guess i just wanted to spend as much time as possible with you.” she replied sheepishly.

you giggled, “alright. well you’re going to have to put up with my company for the next few days.”

“don’t make it sound like a burden! it’s such a treat to be with you!” she huffed with a cute little pout.

“aww, thank you knaroji, well i’m glad you feel that way.”

the time flew by as you chatted for a bit and it was nearing the time you were supposed to set out for the travel to your destination.

the mission was to locate and eliminate one lower rank kizuki who was terrorizing a small village along with another strong demon.

the two of you traveled for about two days before reaching the village.

as you walked along the main road you noticed that bloodstains on the dirt path, broken tatami mats and shredded screen doors littered the town. the atmosphere was grim.

“whoa,… these demons have really done some damage,” you said.

“yeah they really have,” mitsuri whispered.

it was still midday so you both decided to inquire about the demons and gather more information on them from the villagers so you could be better prepared for your fight.

after piecing together some facts from what the locals had said you came to the conclusion that the lower kizuki was mainly giving orders to the lesser demon, but occasionally stepping in to finish the job.

the sun had just set and you and mitsuri were waiting for the lesser demon to arrive.

“um, y/n, what if they both show up?” mitsuri said with a hint of worry in her words.

after being on several missions with mitsuri you understood that before almost every fight she gets nervous, as if she were doubting her abilities, just like you.

“well, the original plan was to take both of them at the same time, so i guess we would just go with that,” you said trying to sound comforting.

“okay..”

after a while of waiting, you heard footsteps exiting the woods from west of the villiage. from where you were sitting towards the south end of town.

but there were more footsteps. both of the demons were here.

mitsuri noticed them too “y/n!” she let out one of her little gasps.

you cupped your hand over her mouth to quiet her. “shh, i know,” having your hand on her soft lips sent butterflies to your stomach. you didn’t know why but it did.

you didn’t see it because your gaze was focused on the place where the sound of footsteps was strongest, but a shade of pink spread across mitsuri’s cheeks at the feeling of your light touch.

“what should we do?!” she whispered loudly after you removed your hand.

“i’ll take the kizuki, you can get the other. is that okay with you?” you said looking into her eyes. her pretty, pretty eyes.

“mhm” she gulped and nodded

you were about to run over to it when she grabbed your arm.

“um y/n…” she said gazing upon the dirt, unable to look you in the eyes because of the shade of pink dusting her cheeks growing deeper. “be careful”

your eyes widened then softened as a small smile appeared on your face, “of course”

then you sped off towards the demons with mitsuri following close behind.

once you reached the demons, you examined each of their eyes spotting a ‘lower 4’ on one of the demons eyes.

you jumped, flipping in midair to bring your heel pummeling down, right onto the demon’s nose.

“kanroji, take the other one!” you shouted over the sound of clashing katanas and fists.

“got it!”

a few minutes later mitsuri had finished off her demon and was headed over to you when she heard a yelp and a crash that followed immediately after.

you had been punched with such force that the blow sent you flying and you slammed into the wall of a nearby house. you tried to get up only for your muscles to give out and you crumpled to the ground again.

laying on your side on the dirt you heard a whoosh from above. a blur of pink, green, and white flashed before you.

“eek! you’re scary!” mitsuri yelped as she finished off the suprised demon, slicing his head clean off with her flexible katana.

she calmed herself a little before looking over to see you now say up against the same wall you were smashed into.

“aaaaaaaaaa y/n are you okay?! i told you to be careful!” she started sobbing as she ran over to your form.

she got to you, sat down, and started violently shaking you. “y/n! y/n! y/nnnnn! waaaaahhhhhh” she wailed and she continued shaking you to try and wake you up.

unknown to her, you were very much conscious, you just had your eyes closed and didn’t have the energy to respond. you felt bad to leave her there crying and worried but you couldn’t really do anything else.

she was so worried and concerned. and when you didn’t respond she hugged you close to where your head was pressed up into her cleavage and you blushed.

she leaned down to press a kiss to your forehead which caused your heart to flutter and your eyes to open.

your head suddenly stopped spinning and you felt fine. you were just tired and still ached from being thrown against the wall.

you looked up at her to say “hey hey i’m okay! really i’m fine!”

“oh! y/n you’re awake! um are you sure you’re okay?” mitsuri asked.

“yes, i’m fine, thank you.”

“okay but we should still go to the butterfly estate just to make sure.”

“of course.” you said to reassure her, “oh, mitsuri, one of your braids fell out. can i re-do it?”

“yes, please!” she exclaimed happily.

she always loved when you braided her hair, which you did often since her braids would come undone a lot. occasionally the reason for them coming loose was the way you purposely tied them wrong so they would fall out and you could braid them again. and sometimes it was because she intentionally let them loose.

she sat in front of you next to the wall you had been punched into.

your fingered sifted through the soft strands of her sakura and lime colored hair as you thought about your feelings.

being a demon slayer meant that there may not be a tomorrow. you could die at any time. after tonight’s events you thought it might just be better to tell her than to continue to keep it a secret.

“is it alright, to feel this way so early?” you started, whispering.

“hmm?” mitsuri questioned, the feeling of you braiding her hair sending her into pure heaven.

“all the sweet nothings, falling in love overnight.” you continued, your voice still soft.

“y/n?” mitsuri asked, confused.

“didn’t mean to get so close, and i know that i should probably go,”

you dropped the braid you were working on, jumped up and walked over to sit in front of her.

you reached your hand out to place it on her cheek “but i got this feeling, tell me girl i gotta know,”

mitsuri face was more pink than her hair now, “i… um… know what?…”

now it was your turn to be sheepish, you couldn’t believe you had gathered the courage to pull a stunt like that. and now you’re stuck because all that confidence is gone. but you knew you had to continue.

“t-touch you softly i…” you said, then you gave up.

you were never one who was good with words, so you decided to convey what you were going to say through actions.

you leaned forward until your breath was intertwining with mitsuri’s, centimeters apart, you closed the gap. planting your soft lips onto her plush ones. gently enough to not be aggressive, but passionate enough to express your emotions.

you were trying to say ‘i love you. do you love me too?’ through the kiss

you got your answer when mitsuri’s bright eyes fluttered shut and this time, she leaned into you asking for a kiss which you gladly gave her. this kiss replied with ‘yes, i do love you.’

when you pulled away, you both were smiling like idiots and giggling and had only just fallen deeper in love with one another.

still giggling, she jumped onto you to hug you out of pure joy.

“ow ow, mitsuri that hurts,” you said as you chuckled, not really focusing much on the pain really, but her instead.

“oh no! i’m so sorry!!” she said and was about to get up when you pulled her back down to hug her once more to stay there for a little while.

after gathering your supplies you began your journey back to headquarters and your estates.

“wow, i’m really going to need a shower when we get back.” you said noticing the dirt all over you while walking.

“oh my gosh, me too.” mitsuri agreed.

“hmmm, maybe we should just take one together. you know, to save water and everything,” you said teasingly, but with a hint of truth in your tone.

mitsuri stopped in her tracks and blushed furiously at the thought of you with no clothes on. and the thought of both of you naked together.

“only if you want of course,” you added, continuing walking.

she snapped out of it and yelled “wait up!!” while you both giggled as you walked home together in the dim light of the sunrise.

agagagga this is so rushed i’m sorry. it’s cringe and basic af. i think i’m gonna rewrite it but i wanted to at least post something for now. arrrr sorry again for the ass writing rn. hope you guys enjoyed at least a little bit. <3

- he will pass you notes in class that just say either the sweetest things or the most out of pocket things. or both

- since he can’t really say what he feels, he will show you

- but if he notices you’re uncomfy he’ll stop and find another way to show you, but if you like it he’ll continue

- he’ll sling his arm around your shoulder and hold your hand a lot he’ll also rest his head on your shoulder whenever he gets the chance

- people start to think you’re dating, it’s funny

- but in all seriousness he’s adorable and just wants to be around you bc you just make him happy

- and i mean that in the nicest way possible

- cause he is so loyal and cute and he just wants to be all over you literally and physically

- it will be painfully obvious that he likes you and at this point you’re thinking about just asking him out rather than keep waiting

- and, like a dog, he can sense when you’re sad or not feeling good and he will do anything he can to make you smile again

- he asks to be assigned missions with you because he wants to spend as much time with you as he can

warnings: manga spoilers!! but other than that, none (lemme know if you find any that i missed/should put a warning for)

a/n: lmfao this is a goofy lil one shot bc of my newfound love for obanai, sorry about the capitalization… again.. i hope you enjoy anyways though :) i got tired and like gave up towards the end lmfao don’t mind the cringe

the fight was tough, you were covered in sweat and blood and so was your lover obanai.

you were assigned this mission to defeat a small group of demons who were attacking villages. it was unusual because demons usually don’t show up in groups, so you had a bad feeling about the mission before the two of you even departed. the problem was that the group of demons was much more numerous than what you had been told. and much stronger too.

it felt like you had been fighting for hours, even between the two of you, the amount of demons was overwhelming, especially because their strength was more than a match for your own. all the jumping around and dodging blows from almost every angle was tiring beyond belief.

the demons slashed with their claws leaving a gash on your forearm that would need to be treated and wrapped after the battle. they were fast too, but you and obanai were faster. unleashing your breathing techniques and decapitating the demons one by one you finished the fight.

just after the last demon had been decapitated you looked around to see the battleground shredded, and your arm still bleeding. then your gaze shifted to something on the ground. it was obanai’s bandages, shredded by the sharp claws of those demons.

you didnt see it, but a particular scratch from a demon had ripped the bandages from his face and left a small vertical cut on his left cheek.

he was turned away from you, head angled at the ground but kaburamaru was looking at you.

“obanai…” you said shakily. “i’ll close my eyes, you can come and use my haori to wrap around your face an-“ you were cut off by obanais smooth voice.

“y/n,” he started, “thank you for being so considerate, but it’s okay. i’ve been meaning to show you for a long time, I just didn’t know when to.”

“i just know it’s hard for you and , so seriously you can cover your face with my-“ then, he turned around “haori…” the last word came out slowly as you took in the features of the lower half of his face.

His cheeks each had a rough scar stretching out from the corners of his mouth to a little above the corner of jaw bone.

you started walking towards him slowly, your gaze never once shifting from his face. you walked until you stood right in front of him, only inches apart. you pulled him into a warm embrace, hugging him tight, admiring his courage to show you what he’s hidden for so long.

you pulled away and gazed softly at him some more now that you were closer.

“i know it’s hideous and i just hope that you won’t leave m-“ he began, but now it was his turn to get cut off.

cupping his face and looking deep into his eyes, you tilted his head to the left and planted a soft, almost angelic kiss onto his scar. a hint of shock adorning his features. then you did the same to the other side, placing a sweet kiss onto the scar on that side. then you centered his face and directly kissed his lips for the first time.

His body froze and tensed up before melting into your touch.

you had kissed him over his bandages many times, but nothing could compare to the one the two of you shared right now. it was soft and sweet, but deep and meaningful. you could taste the faint hint of iron from the blood that had dripped onto his lip, from the scratch on his cheek. and you felt the warmth of his breath radiate onto you.

obanai felt like he was in heaven. a soft pink tint had found its way onto his face when he felt your soft lips on his. you filled the kiss with so much love and made him feel so wanted. you were holding his face like it was the most precious thing to exist and kissing him like the world depended on it.

when you pulled away, his eyes were half lidded, like he was processing what had just happened.

you whispered, “obanai, you’re beautiful”

you meant him? no, you must be hallucinating. he could never be beautiful. Not with the dirty blood that flowed through his veins and the ugly scars that stretched outwards from the edges of his mouth.

“please don’t lie like that y/n,” he said

“Its not a lie if its true.” Reaching up to twirl a strand of his raven hair between your fingers.

“But y/n, they’re horrendous, how could you call me beautiful when I look like this?”

You sighed, “I just wish you could see yourself through my eyes,” you said, still peering into his heterochromia eyes, “because this you could, then you would see perfection.”

You traced your thumbs lightly over the scars on his cheeks while you leaned in once more. you kissed him again. This time with even more passion and love, though he didn’t think that was possible. your soft lips dancing with his own sent him into pure bliss.

his brows were furrowed, trying his best to imbue just as much love and passion as you. And trying not pass out on the spot from the feeling of falling in love with you all over again.

When you pulled away he asked, “Y/n,.. why?” confused on how you had chosen him instead of another. He was sure you could make anyone fall for you, so why him? “Why choose me.. over anyone else?”

You simply placed your arms around his neck and pressed your body up against his to hug him a second time.

“Because I love you, obanai.” You whispered into his ear.

He was bewildered, it was the first time you had ever said that to him. The way those words fell from your mouth filled him with even more adoration for you.

“I love you as well, y/n.” He said softly, hugging you back.

The two of you stayed like that for a while, embraced in each other’s arms, simply basking in each other’s presence, because, in the end, that was all you wanted.
