"I came to dance, not to talk." - Felinette
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The response to this prompt comes to us from @sunshinecloud-03!
Marinette and Felix are bitter ex-lovers who have had a messy break up. When they take on the role of maid of honor and best man for Adrien and Kagami’s wedding, they meet again. Rivalry rises, and old feelings resurface. Kagami notices this, and with Adrien’s help, they meddle and pair up their friends for a wedding party waltz, once the first dance is over. Marinette and Felix are paired together, a decision that doesn’t please them, but they agree to get through it, for their friends. Felix attempts to apologize during the first rehearsal, and Marinette rebuffs his attempt, telling him that she came here to dance, not to talk about their past relationship. Weeks pass, sparks fly, and icy exteriors melt as Felix and Marinette reconnect and fall in love once again.

Plagg - Chaos (Me, I'm Chaos) Is What Killed the Dinosaurs, Darling
Tumblr media
The response to this prompt comes to us from @deinde-prandium!
---
This is more of an prologue than a summary, but I couldn't help myself...
They’ve asked for this story about five hundred times now. What’s more, they seem to react to every detail the exact same way every time they hear it.
Selective amnesia. Plagg’s convinced it’s the only explanation.
And yet, there’s something in the way they ask that always makes the kwami cave. Plagg might be a god, but not even gods are immune to a well-executed plea.
Or it could just be that it’s Adrien and Marinette’s kids who are doing the pleading, with their annoyingly adorable puppy dog eyes. It’s funny to watch when they use the look on Tikki (though why they’re asking for extra dessert instead of extra camembert remains a mystery), but for oneself to be the target of such weaponized cuteness…
“Pretty pretty pretty please??” the children beg.
Dammit.
“All right, all right,” Plagg relents with a sigh. “But I’m not pausing midway through because Hugo needs to use the bathroom again. You need to pee, you go do it now.”
“Yay!” they cheer. Hugo races down the hall as quickly as he can, and Emma and Louis snuggle into their beds as they wait for their brother to return.
Once Hugo is back (and it’s been confirmed that he washed his hands before leaving the bathroom), Plagg flicks off the overhead light. A moonbeam filters in through the bay window of the kids’ shared bedroom, and the kwami steps into it like a spotlight as they begin their tale.
“It all started about 66 million years ago. Cheese hadn’t been invented yet, so…”

Luka/Marinette/Adrien/Kagami - No One Can Know That I Know That He Knows That She Knows That One Thing
Tumblr media
The response to this prompt is a collaborative effort by @galahadwilder and @deinde-prandium!
---
Luka wasn’t an idiot, but there were times he suspected Kagami thought he was. In fairness to him, however, it wasn’t exactly his fault that he was trying to put some space between them since accidentally discovering that she was Ryuuko. It’s not that the news upset him or anything. It was just…he was now at three secret identities that he’d discovered, all without even trying. And he wasn’t even a Guardian! As good as he was at projecting an air of calm around Marinette and Adrien, somehow knowing about Kagami as well threatened to set him off kilter. Honestly, he didn’t know how Marinette did it, keeping the kinds of secrets she did. But it’s not like he could talk to her about the situation…or Adrien, for that matter. He shuddered to think how awkward the conversation would go if it turned out that his boyfriend, a superhero, didn’t actually realize his boyfriend and girlfriends were also superheroes…
No. He just needed time to process. And to figure out what to do. The important thing was, no one could know that he knew.
Kagami wasn’t an idiot, but she certainly felt like Luka was treating her like one. It’s not like she’d treated him any differently when she accidentally discovered he was Viperion— not that she told him that she knew, but still. Then again, it was one thing knowing Viperon’s secret identity, but quite another to learn the secret identities of Ladybug and Chat Noir. That discovery had thrown her for a loop, even though she really should have seen it coming, and now she found herself wishing she had a confidant. Talking to Adrien about it was out of the question, and Marinette— as the Guardian, she had enough on her plate. Luka, on the other hand…he would be an excellent secret keeper, if only it didn’t feel like he was avoiding her. Did he suspect that she knew about him? Hmm.
Whatever Luka’s motives for avoiding her, perhaps he had the right idea. No matter how awkward things got, it was critical that no one knew that she knew.
Adrien wasn’t an idiot, but he was starting to wonder if Marinette thought he was. Kagami had blown her identity on her first time out, and Miracle Queen had shown Luka’s directly to Hawkmoth, but only Marinette wasn’t allowed to have a Miraculous back after only he had seen her? Sure, do whatever it takes to protect your identity, but then. Luka—Viperion—had found out his, somehow, and she hadn’t seemed surprised. Which meant she knew and didn’t tell him. That hurt. He wanted to ask her about it, but he wasn’t supposed to know who she was, was he? She’d been adamant that nobody was supposed to know, but apparently it was just nobody but him.
He could get the picture. He wasn’t let in, again. And that was fine. He still cared about her, about all of them, even if they didn’t about him, so it’s not like anyone really needed to know he was hurting. It’s not like anyone needed to know he knew.
Marinette wasn’t an idiot. Both of her boyfriends, and her girlfriend, were all avoiding each other. Clearly there’d been some kind of fight, and all of them were… mad? Maybe?
Okay, maybe she was an idiot. Because she had no idea what had happened, why none of them were talking, and none of them were telling her anything. She’d gotten so engrossed in her duties as Ladybug, and the Guardian, that she hadn’t really kept up with her datemates, so she’d clearly missed something, and she had no idea what. And she couldn’t just ask them—they’d flip out and be mad at her and they’d stop being able to protect Paris and then Monarch would win and the city would be overrun by Nazi Zombies! No, she needed a plan. Some way to investigate what had happened. Maybe she could get the rest of Operation Secret Garden involved in her scheme? It didn’t matter. Whatever it took, she had to know.

Chlonette / I Wasn’t Like This Before
Tumblr media
The response to this prompt comes to us from @galahadwilder!
---
The worst part of dealing with Chloé isn’t the pranks. It isn’t the mean-spirited comments. It isn’t the constant attempts to get Marinette thrown out of school. It isn’t even the outright violence. No, the worst part about dealing with Chloé is that Marinette remembers who she used to be before her mother left. And that Marinette may have had a tiny, teenie, itty-bitty baby crush on her.
Chloé was Marinette’s first kiss, “practicing that thing that grown-ups do in movies.” The two of them had gotten married by the slide in elementaire. They’d been best friends, sharing everything, everything, until Chloé’s mother had vanished and Marinette’s parents had stayed. And Chloé hadn’t forgiven. The worst part about dealing with Marinette isn’t the self-righteousness. It isn’t the sabotaging of Chloé’s plans. It isn’t the way the designer keeps turning the class against her. It isn’t even the stupid cracks about Chloé’s family, though those hurt quite a lot. No, the worst part about dealing with Marinette is that Chloé remembers how things used to be before her mother left. And that Chloé is hopelessly, helplessly, desperately in love with Marinette Dupain-Cheng. And she has no idea how to be her friend again.

Gabriel Agreste centric — “Messy blades and spilled blood”
Tumblr media
The response to this prompt comes to us from @hanaasbananas!
— I've been sitting on this for a few days now and I keep coming back to the idea of, like, a set of vignettes or snapshots through his life, with a repeated motif that changes as his life does or gets sort of warped.
So it could go:
"Gabriel Agreste would never be a father." going into his reasons why, a child would be a distraction from his work, and there were too many variables involved. He'd considered having a child to be his heir but the chances of the child posessing the same skills needed to run his business were slim, he'd rather take an apprentice the way Audrey had taken him in.
"Gabriel Agreste didn't want to be a father." He really didn't understand why Emelie so desperately wanted a child. It would only disrupt their lives. Treatments were expensive etc etc. He didn't want to be a father, but for Emelie he tried.
"Gabriel Agreste was not a very good father". Emelie told him with every reproachful glance, every whispered argument late into the night about his indifference towards their son, every something something. He pretended to ignore her when she'd call him mr grumpy face to Adrien as he passed them by. Emelie didn't talk to him for a week after he asked why she wasn't simply content enough that they'd HAD a child, why did he need to get involved too?
"Gabriel Agreste was a single father." But he wouldn't be for long. Some nights would hear Adrien crying in his room, but what was the point in comforting him, trying to bond? Neither of them would like the experience and besides, Adrien would have his mother back soon enough.
Idk about the part in the middle, where I could have him maybe discover chat noir is Adrien and resents him even more for fighting against him, not wanting his mother back (which is illogical bc adrien doesn't KNOW what Gabriel's endgoal is). There would be a fight, maybe Gabriel doesn't want to get his own hands dirty so he makes an akumatised knight for the blades part of the prompt and he comes out only when Adrien is exhausted. Blood is spilled.
Now this could go either way it could be Adrien had faked and strikes a killing blow or he wasn't and Gabriel does it instead. Either way:
"Gabriel Agreste never wanted to be a father. And now, standing over his sons body/lying at his sons feet, he was a father no more."

for the March event: Kitty, Honestly (The History of Wrong Guys) for Marichat!
Tumblr media
The response to this prompt comes to us from @galahadwilder!
---
Post-Elation, Marinette realizes two things. First: Marinette can’t be with Chat Noir. Second: Chat Noir isn’t in love with Ladybug anymore.
Crushed, Marinette stays home from school the next day, until Chat Noir shows up at her balcony that evening after school to check on her. He looks about as wrecked as she feels, and the two of them make an agreement:
Stay friends.
Thus begins the Marichat friendship, where Chat Noir comes over a few nights a week to commiserate. But they keep… almost kissing. Almost loving. Almost. And so Marinette resolves to move on, by force if necessary, before they both go crazy..
She tries to date, to find other guys, but none of them feel right to her. She complains about it to Chat Noir, hoping to maybe dissuade him from pursuing her. This goes okay, until he finds out that her crush before him was Adrien.
Suddenly he’s weirdly invested in getting her together with Adrien? It doesn’t matter how much she tells him that won’t work, or how much she pursues anyone else. Every time she complains about another bad date, there he is, telling her to go for Adrien.
And is Adrien suddenly paying so much more attention to her than he used to?

Characters: early fanon cat blanc and early fanon evil ladybug (antibug?), Alya, Nino etc
Title: Cruel season
Tumblr media
The response to this prompt comes to us from Gaussiansphere!
---
The idea of seasons as a motif always makes me think of other classical quadralities—four elements, temperaments, humours, etc. As a result, I'd want to organize it as four short storylines or even vignettes, each one tracing the relevant character's descent. In terms of length, it could go two ways—there's a short version of it where you just have one chapter per character, or a longer one where you do 3x4 with each set of three hitting the basic story notes: introduction/tragedy/fall. When I've written things similar to this concept in the past, I usually have a more independent continuity, where each narrative arc is seperated from the others or is at least not very intertwined with them. In this case, however, it would be fun to mix things up and have the chapters interspersed so that the fall of one character becomes the tragedy of the next. For order, the way to go would be Alya-Nino-Adrien-Marinette. I considered having Adrien and Alya swapping places in the order, but Adrien falling first would make the rest of the narrative a bit awkward. (Flipping this order so the two heroes fall before their friends would also work, but the progression of the plot would be very, very different—in the former, you've got a roughly inverse rate of power to corruption rate. In the latter, the opposite. It would be a grimmer story, but without as much potential for suspense).
My twist on this would be that I'd make it a period piece: 1960s France was crazy. There was a war going on, huge social unrest, and radicals nearly assasinated Charles De Gaul. All in all, it fits the title quite well.

Love Square — “Band-Aids Don’t Fix Bullet Holes”
Tumblr media
The response for this prompt comes to us from @chai-ki!
---
So this idea actually came about when I was working on my Eras fic but I scrapped it because it promised to be way too long for the 10,000 word limit. 😅
When I saw the title “Band-Aids Don’t Fix Bullet Holes” it immediately brought me back to this story. It’s one I definitely want to write and I think I may keep the title because I love it. I just have other pieces I’ve committed to that I need to finish first. 🫣 (Looking at you December event fic…)
The story takes place post “Destruction”, post Monarch defeat and follows my typical ‘I use what I want from cannon and scrap the rest’ type of writing. It’s an AU where Adrien and Marinette have never met -potentially. I haven’t figured out the plot holes there yet. Adrien is traumatized by the fact that he not only killed a person but that that person was his father who was also an evil psycho. Maribug of course only knows part if the story and tries to be supportive but he falls off the face of the earth, refusing to transform ever again. Two years later is where the majority of the story would take place. So yeah.
If you’ve gotten this far, enjoy the snippet below and thank you! 🥰
🦋
Adrien awoke to his head pounding. Rays of all too cheerful sunlight streamed in through his curtains that gently swayed in the breeze flowing through his wide-open balcony doors. He tried to remember what exactly happened last night that would lead him to leave them open. Trying and failing to focus on any sliver of a detail, he decided to try and get up.
Bad idea.
His stomach lurched and he barely made it to the bathroom before emptying what little remained inside. The action only spurred his headache on, and his vison went blurry. Leaning back against the wall he tried again to recall any sliver of a detail from the night before. Despite the obvious hangover, his heart felt incredibly heavy, like something large was suddenly missing, but for the life of him, he couldn’t figure out what it was. Rapidly he came to the conclusion that he needed more sleep if he were going to figure anything out.
Adrien crawled his way back to his bed and hoisted himself up, facing away from the open window this time. A black blob filled his line of sight and for a moment he thought something was truly wrong with his eyes before realization hit.
“Plagg?”
“Hey kid. You look like…”
“What- what happened?”
Plagg hoisted the large comforter up and over Adrien’s shoulders. “Get some sleep, you need the rest.”
Rather than reply, Adrien quickly fell into a deep slumber, already forgetting what it was he had wanted to know in the first place. Plagg hovered above him with a sad look in his eyes.
“It would break your heart if you remembered, kid.”

“Hey kitty, just checking in. You had me really worried last night. Plagg assured me that you were okay… I don’t really believe him, but I suppose I don’t really have the choice. Heh.  Um. So, anyways, I’m at our spot. Please come see me soon.”
1 New Voicemail of 427
“Kitty… It’s been a year. I hope you’re alright. I miss you.”
“Nothing new has happened lately. Same old minor crimes and what not… My friend (the one I told you found out who I was about a few months ago) and I have been talking and… well I think I want you to know who I am outside of the mask.”
“No, I know that I want you to know.”
“My balcony hatch was always open for you, even if it was raining because I wanted you to know you were welcome any time... You used to come by for cookies and tea… Sometimes we’d stay up late and watch a movie, sometimes you’d fall asleep on my chaise. We were closer than you knew… silly kitty.”
“Marinette. My name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng. And I miss you, Chaton.”

Between Twilight - Ladrien
Tumblr media
The response to this prompt comes to us from @rosie-b! (You can also find it on Ao3)
She only ever comes in the evening. The quiet moments just before dusk, when the last rays of the sun are still bidding the city goodbye, that’s when she visits him. It was the time that they'd agreed upon, back in the beginning of their unusual arrangement. Then, Ladybug was free from her daily chores, and there were fewer people outside looking up to spot her. Then, Adrien’s schedule was finally empty, and the short gap left at his bedtime — early, for models need their sleep if they’re going to look pretty — could be filled with a visit from his dearest lady.
“Are you sure that you’re okay with this?” she’d asked him in a hushed, anxious voice that first night. She’d looked beautiful in the low lighting, her blue eyes wide and staring at him, his modeling lipstick already staining her lips.
He had smiled in response, moving closer to caress her flushed cheek before placing a kiss there.
“Of course I’m sure,” he’d whispered close to her ear. “You’re all that I’ve wanted for years. If I complained about how I can finally have you, I’d be lying, because I would die for just a glimpse of your smile, Ladybug. Keeping this secret is a tiny price to pay in comparison, and much more than I’d dared to hope for.
“As long as you’re sure, too,” he’d added, suddenly remembering how nervous he’d been only minutes ago while making his confession.
Ladybug had smirked as he’d leaned back, not wanting to leave but not sure if she wanted him to stay.
She’d pulled him closer, pressed a kiss to his cheek as she placed her hand on his back, and then dipped him down. The blood had rushed to Adrien’s cheeks as he processed what she’d done, and she leaned down close to him.
“Of course I’m sure, Adrien,” she whispered to him, and when her lips finally touched his, he knew he’d found heaven.
But they were fooling themselves, and they both knew it. Their relationship was born of a dying dream, in the face of the dark nighttime which kills hope and love. In the final moments of the day, at the last glow of light, she could visit him. And then at nightfall, he would be left all alone. That was what they both knew when they’d agreed to this, to the clandestine meetings and the kisses stolen from the very hands of fate.
Just like the daylight, the chance for them to be together was dying, and once they’d caught Hawk Moth (together, though Ladybug didn’t know that part yet), there was no guarantee that Adrien would ever see his lady again, as a civilian or a kwami-powered hero. This was what he had chosen, and most of the time, he was all right with his reality.
But sometimes he wished she could visit him during the day, that they could walk down the streets like real— like openly dating couples did. He wished he could wave her goodbye as she left and not wonder if that final kiss had marked the last one of all time for them.
He wanted to be able to give her roses.
That was one unfairness he hadn’t expected, though Ladybug had, in her wisdom.
“My family would notice them,” she’d told him regretfully. “Maybe just one every now and then should be all right. But more than that, and it will be obvious I’m hiding someone from them, though they wouldn’t know who.”
She was right. So, Adrien never gave her more than one rose at a time, and even those came sparingly. Someday, when they’d revealed their identities and promised to still love each other, he could give her a whole bouquet, Adrien told himself. He would make sure it was the most beautiful bouquet anyone in Paris had ever seen.
He dreamed about it on evenings like these, in the moments where the clock’s counted time was late but the sun’s light still kept the sky mostly blue.
He dreamed to pass the time, because he was waiting for her.
As twilight began in earnest, he began to prepare for her, making sure that his room was tidy and checking his face in the mirror one more time. He endured Plagg’s lazy teasing and fed him cheese to shut him up, then sat back on the sofa by the window, waiting for the sound of a yo-yo.
He closed his eyes and listened as his mind lingered on roses and kisses at the beginning of night.
“You look pensive today.”
Ladybug’s voice surprised him, and his eyes flew open.
“Lovebug! You know I’m always happy to hear your voice, but you don’t need to sneak up on me like that!”
She laughed, the sound loud and clear. “I wasn’t sneaking, my prince. I think you were falling asleep, was the problem. Did you get tired of waiting for me?”
Adrien’s brows furrowed as Ladybug sat down next to him. “I wasn’t,” he said. “Wasn’t falling asleep. Could never get tired of waiting for you. You didn’t tell me not to call you Lovebug,” he pointed out, feeling slightly concerned. “Are you feeling okay?”
Ladybug reached over and folded his hand in hers.
“I’m fine, Adrien. You already know my preferences, so why should I have to repeat them all the time?”
Adrien watched her in disbelief. “You just scolded Chat Noir for calling you Buginette this afternoon. Why are my nicknames special?”
“Because you are!” Ladybug said with a smile that dimmed when he didn’t laugh. “Okay. You looked pensive, like I said, and a little sad. I didn’t want to scold you while you were looking like that. And… you still do, kind of, look like that. What were you thinking about before I came?”
Adrien nearly jumped. “Oh! Nothing! No, it was just a long day, and I was waiting for you, which was fine and you weren’t late and I was okay, really.”
“You were okay?”
Ladybug wouldn’t let go of his hand. That was fine, only he really felt like getting up and pacing or maybe hiding himself in his bedsheets and taking the express elevator down to the center of the earth, so it could hide his embarrassment there.
“I am okay, Ladybug. Really.”
She frowned and watched him closely.
“If you say so. But you know you can tell me anything, right?”
Adrien nodded. “I know I can.” But you can’t, he added in his head.
Or maybe out loud, judging from the hurt look on his girlfriend’s face. Perfect.
“I didn’t mean to say that! And I didn’t mean it like that, either! I just meant, well, it’s unfair for you, isn’t it? That I can tell you anything—" Well, not really. “—but you can only tell me so little, even when you want to say more. It’s unfair to you, not me.”
“Yes, it is,” Ladybug said, chewing on her lip. “Yes, it is unfair to you. Is that what you were upset about?”
Adrien spun around to face her fully. “No! It wasn’t that, I was just— I was wishing I could give you roses. Not just one, but a whole bouquet, or maybe one flower every day, or both. It wasn’t anything else.”
Ladybug still looked unsure. “But I’m the reason you can’t give me more than one flower,” she said slowly. “Are you mad at me? Did I do anything?”
This was going much worse than Adrien had wanted it to.
“No! I’m not mad, I swear! You’re also the reason I have someone to give roses to! And I’m really happy about that!”
Ladybug seemed to relax a little. “Okay. Then, what’s bugging you?”
“That it’s not a good time to make use of that pun,” Adrien joked.
Ladybug was not impressed.
“You know what I meant. If you’re comfortable sharing with me, then please do! I want to be here for you, Adrien. Please let me be.”
There wasn’t much he could say to that.
Adrien sighed. “I’m not upset. I really am being honest about that. I guess it just bothers me sometimes, that this is all the time we have together. I’m glad we have it, and it’s more than I ever expected I’d have, but doesn’t it seem a little like we’re cursed, that we’re fighting fate doing this?”
Ladybug shook her head. “What do you mean? I thought it was a blessing that we could have this time at all.”
“Well, yes! But haven’t you thought about it? How we can only meet while day turns into night, in between twilight and dusk and darkness? Is this all we’re allowed to have? When Hawk Moth is gone, when you beat him the way I know you’re going to do, what happens? You told me before that you might need to give up your Miraculous. If that happens, how will I see you again? What if this is all the time I’ll ever have with you, and I can’t even give you enough roses to make it feel as special as it is?”
Ladybug’s face softened. “It always feels special enough to me, with or without the roses. Just being with you means so much to me! And, Adrien, I promise we will have more time than this. When Hawk Moth is gone, I— I might need some time, but then I promise I will tell you who I am, under the mask. And we will be together in the day, go on dates in the park and kiss and not worry about the rest of it. I worry, too, you know, but at the end of the day, you’re always there for me. And I think, that’s enough. We are blessed, Adrien. What we have is a miracle. It could never be a curse.”
Adrien smiled and tried not to cry.
“Thank you,” he choked out. “I’m sorry for worrying. That was silly.”
“It was just your big heart showing how much it cares,” Ladybug said, tapping the spot of his chest where it lay. “I could never complain about that, and you better not apologize for it. I love you, Adrien. Just remember, we’re stuck between twilight now, but after that, after the night that follows, then comes the dawn. And we will have it one day. Together.”
“Together,” Adrien affirmed, snuggling into his girlfriend’s warm arms. And they stayed like that, together, watching the stars emerge, waiting for dawn.

"Adventures in Babysitting," Tikki & Plagg

It’ll be fine, Tikki had said. Oh no, Marinette, don’t you and Adrien worry, she had said. You two go out and enjoy yourselves, she had said. Emma will be just fine with us, she had said. Right, Plagg? And, like a fool, Plagg had agreed, back when he naively assumed that the toddler in question being asleep at the time of said agreement meant that she would remain that way for the rest of the evening. That had been an unprecedented introduction of two extra-large multicolour packs of Sharpies to the light-wood kitchen cabinets, three extra-chocolate-chip cookies and an unfortunate PS5, an entire tube of Doctor Rabbit’s Minty Fresh Anti-Plaque Scrub toothpaste, and several blows to Plagg’s belief in his own competence ago, and as a result there was now a new objective for the evening:
Get Tikki to admit (between increasingly desperate attempts to persuade the extremely uncooperative four-year-old to put her pyjamas back on) that, millenia of experience or not, Kwamis were simply not designed to be babysitters.

I love me a good Song of Achilles reference…at first I thought of trying to come up with some kind of Ladrien-in-ancient-Greece thing but I couldn’t really figure out a good Achilles/Patroclus parallel, so some I went with some post-s5 angst instead:
Marinette and Adrien have broken up for reasons that have yet to make themselves known. Marinette, however, is a glutton for punishment and can’t seem to stay away, so she starts to visit Adrien…as Ladybug. It starts out innocuously enough, but very quickly it becomes clear that each is using the other as a therapist of sorts to help them process the feelings about their split. Subconsciously they both know what they’re doing (and that they shouldn’t be doing it), but they keep ignoring that reality because each feels like the other is the only one who can really understand what they’re going through, even if they never bring up actual specifics. Except that Adrien says these things about Marinette that just make her want to sob (cue some choice lines that allude to The Song of Achilles about soulmates, etc) because even though it’s clear that she’s hurt him, he still seems to love her, and oh no how does she even attempt to come clean or reconcile with him when she’s doing this?
[It switches POV here] But then one thing leads to another, and they kiss, and Adrien realizes the reason they understand each other so well. Because, miraculous or no miraculous, he could recognize his (ex)girlfriend’s kiss anywhere. [Allude to this line: I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world]
Of course, this also means several other things, principally that
1) He’s been confiding to Ladybug about his ex-girlfriend
2) Ladybug has been confiding to him about her ex-boyfriend
3) They both seem awfully hung up on their exes for people who just kissed
4) Probably because Ladybug IS Marinette
He feels alternately guilty and furious about this, partially because he felt like he was betraying Marinette by kissing Ladybug, but furious that Ladybug clearly knew the whole time about his problems with Marinette because it’s HER, but also HOLY CRAP LADYBUG IS MARINETTE.
Also, we discover that the reason that they broke up involves an argument about some lingering trauma Marinette is experiencing because she’s hidden the truth about Gabriel from Adrien…and as the situation escalates, it continues to be a sticking point. Tempers flare, passions rise, there are some choice words said, and ultimately Ladybug ends up leaving, with Adrien feeling more heartbroken than ever (by the way this is why I can never write this, because I’d cry the whole time).
(Part 2 of this, by the way, involves the tables being turned and Adrien visiting Marinette as Chat Noir. Because of course it does. At least, it would, if I were to write this...which I probably won't. But I might...)

in a bathroom stall she cried, a ragtag mess she was, still, I have not seen a sight prettier than Lady Luck. she dabbed at her tears and smothered a smile, "such petty woe to cry about" she would supply. I couldn't get her to see, a convenience it was, that I could hold her hand through the storms up above. she wouldn't believe me, but in you I'll confide, I'd wager half my soul for a sliver of her light.

Adrien + Nino, "Board Game Night"
Tumblr media
The response for this prompt comes to us from @deinde-prandium!

Okay I see this one as like a Nino POV comedy of errors wherein Nino has been attempting to plan the ultimate bros night (think Party Crasher, but on a significantly smaller scale because it’s literally just him and Adrien, but we won’t give Nino too much grief about the semantics). He feels the need to call it “Board Game Night” rather than Game Night because he’s trying to expand his best bro’s horizons beyond Ultimate Mecha Strike V (also because he’s the one hosting, and Chris is less likely to bother them if they let him use the TV).
The only problem is that every time they make plans to hang out for a game night, there’s some kind of freak interruption that results in Adrien backing out or leaving partway through…cue some Detective Nino work, and he (not surprisingly) comes to some insane conclusion about Adrien (the details of which I’ll work out later if I ever come back to this, but imagine something really off the wall, like he’s having an affair with Ladybug or something).
Anyway, he eventually confronts Adrien about it, and ultimately Adrien comes clean and reveals that he is Chat Noir. And Nino is incredibly shocked by this, but is also touched by the very palpable relief he can see on Adrien’s face in light of this confession. Accordingly, he responds the only way he knows how:
“Dude.”
“Yeah.”
[silence]
“So, uh…you wanna play some Sushi Go?”
The smile on Adrien’s face is like, the best thing ever.
“Yeah. Let’s play.”

the things we shouldn't do / lukloé
Tumblr media
The response for this prompt comes to us from @chai-ki!

There was no way this was possible, he shouldn’t, but there was no recalling a note once it had been played. He was plummeting straight towards the greatest of betrayals and yet he couldn’t help himself; like a moth drawn to the blinding light of the sun, she lured him in without ever having uttered a single word.
Jules had grown confident over the last few years, but he knew (yes, he knew) she still had fears based on the past. How on earth could he do this to her? Would she ever forgive him? Sure, she said she’d let the past go but it was easy to see how affected she’d been by it all. Small comments would cause the light in her eyes to dim, her smile to fall.
He shouldn’t be in love with the one who caused his sister pain.
But he was.
Chloe’s inner melody enveloped him, staking its claim in his mind, refusing to budge. The first time he’d seen her after she came back to Paris he’d found himself entranced as she stood across the street from him, talking with her sister. Despite the confident way she stood, the arrogant aura she used to hold was nowhere to be seen. Chloe was beautiful. The melancholy notes that flowed from within spoke of loss and a longing for someone to love her without condition. There was an undertone of resilience, attesting to a woman who had made her way on her own.
The ballad of Chloe Bourgeois was captivating, filling his soul like never before.
When Luka had been caught staring, she offered him a small smile accompanied by a slight wave before turning and heading into the hotel.
Chloe had haunted his dreams since.
Slowly, she had integrated again with his main group of friends, proving herself a changed soul. She never conversed with him but he wasn’t sure if that was her own choice or the way he tried (and failed) to keep himself distant.
Lack of conversation did little, if anything, to keep them from growing closer. They stole glances at one another more often than not, the intensity enough to leave him reeling every time. Gentle touches ignited something within; Chloe’s shoulder brushing against his arm as she walked by, Luka’s fingers reaching out and tracing the back of her hand as he would circle back.
Tonight was no different, they’d passed each other more times than he could count and Luka found himself set ablaze, completely unable to extinguish the desire within.
Juleka’s laughter echoed in his mind and he was again reminded of why this was a bad idea, why he was wrong for wanting it. As he held Chloe’s cerulean stare from across the room, he knew he couldn’t deny it any longer.
Head held high, Luka crossed the floor, never once looking away; refusing to falter. Chloe remained firmly in place as he approached, watching intently. Heart pounding with each of his final steps, Luka cupped her cheeks  and crashed their lips together without hesitation. Chloe returned his passion with fervor, tangling her fingers in his hair as she pulled him closer.
Luka slid his arms around her sealing their fate as he continued to deepen their kiss, the harmony they created heavily intoxicating. Around them their friends and family cheered, the cadence of a sonata to concerto.
In life there are things you shouldn’t do. Loving Chloe was not one of those things.
