HA HA yep that's what I looked like!

This weekend has been a marathon of wedding dress shopping, at first just for fun and so I could tick it off as 'yep no dress for me, just pants thanks'. But I didn't expect to REALLY love seeing myself in the whole getup, so i guess I'm going traditional afterall lol

It's been exhausting though, emotionally and physically, so I'm still taking it easy and recovering. I'll be back and responding to stuff in a couple days when it's quieter and I'm feeling better.

(I'd share photos but my finance follows me and he'd see them~)

If anyone is looking for a Tumblr like site that is explicitly set up to protect queer and adult content, I have been finding Cohost to be quite good.

Pillowfort can feel very clunky at times, but I have found the transition to Cohost to be very smooth. They have just rolled out ask boxes as well.

I haven’t seen anyone make a post like this so here goes

this is a post for all severely depressed people who can’t channel their depression into anything “creative”, who have abandoned their hobbies for months or years because of the lack of energy and motivation, for those who keep rewatching old stuff over and over because getting into new things costs energy, for those who struggle having and keeping interests because the fog in the brain makes everything feel dull and nothing feels special. For everyone missing the pre-depression days of binging a show or obsessing over a video game or having it inspire you. It can be hard being on this website full of creative and passionate people (no shade) talking and sharing interests when you don’t even see the point of getting out of bed. All we can do is hope it’ll get better one day. Let’s not lose this hope. It will be okay, it has to. ❤️‍🩹

i don’t know where the notion that if you don’t give big bucks to an artist then you’re not really supporting them came from, but when people say even a tiny bit of monetary support saves an artist, it’s not for the aesthetic or the gesture of it all. i’ve been able to have actual drinking water on days i’ve been incredibly broke simply because someone bought a brush pack for 2 euros. in the most actual, literal way i could possibly convey this: the SMALLEST amount counts. in practice counts. people-get-to-eat-today counts. especially in this age of everyone and their mother being out to deplatform artists. there’s value in the tiniest of ways

LMAO I'm constantly surprised people remember these details about me!

My partner and I haven't married yet, we got engaged right before covid and that put it on halt for some time.

My extreme burn out also delayed it as you can't exactly plan a wedding when you can't function.

But we have finally started making plans and we have help from our families, so we are planning the date for late 2024!

I'm excited to be married to my best friend 🥰

Creativity's been running pretty low with all the shifting responsibilities and routines that comes with transitioning into legal adulthood, meaning larger projects have largely gone neglected these past few weeks-- but of course, I'd be doing my sanity a disservice if I didn't indulge in at least some light drawing.

Since I wasn't feeling up to skeletons today? I doodled unicorns. And furries. And creatures born from my subconscious that not even I can fully comprehend. Oh, and an autism creature, because I couldn't not fawn over at least one.

(Said autism creature belongs to the stupendously skilled @mmishee-art, their work is a rare treat I get to indulge in every once in a while)
