I visited the filming location of the wedding scene in long vacation in London yesterday. Didn’t know it was filmed in London until I saw someone posting abt it on the internet. But still, as someone who has a really bad sense of directions, it took me quite awhile to find these places, even though I was following the OP’s instructions.
The first two pics were taken in and around Holland park, a very posh neighbourhood. The church is called St John’s church, about 2 miles away from Holland park. I don’t understand why they ended up choosing this very plain-looking church for the wedding scene, which I wouldn’t even bother looking at if I walk past it.
Anyway, I’m glad that I managed to find most of the places that appeared in the scene but would definitely consider visiting this area again to find the rest (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎).

George Harrison in India (1976)
NOTE: I realise this isn’t my most aesthetically pleasing compilation, but I thought it was important to put together, and I hope you find it helpful.
“He became so very serious about meditating that the lightness did disappear. He became more sombre. He’d just go into another space. I don’t know…I felt maybe he was unhappy. He meditated for so long, for hours. It seemed to me as if he preferred to be in a meditative state than in a waking, conscious state. He liked the peace and calm. There was a lot going on. We weren’t even 30.”
- Pattie Boyd (on George after Rishikesh)
“I began to realize that there were three Georges in the house. When I heard him striding down the long hallway toward the kitchen, always with a little bounce in his step, I’d find myself silently saying, George, please be in a good mood. The first George was great fun and loved to gossip, drink, smoke a little pot, and even, on rare occasions, snort a line or two of cocaine. This was my favorite George, the one I first got to know and love at Apple, and whenever he’d hang out with us, we were all happy. The second George was intense, sarcastic, and detached; he’d morph into this George when things were bothering him at Apple or with the other Beatles, or when something wasn’t going quite right with the garden or the remodeling efforts. Little things would set him off at these times, and we’d all have to watch our step. The third George was the spiritual seeker, the one who would walk around with his hand inside his prayer bag and chant silently to himself. At these times he was peaceful and serene, totally absorbed in otherworldly thoughts. I had many amazing discussions with this third George and learned a lot from him, but truthfully, he wasn’t a whole lot of fun for the rest of us who really preferred drinking, talking, laughing, and having fun.”
- Chris O’Dell (on living at Friar Park in 1970)

This is so bloody true that it even made me cry at 4 pm😭.And yeah today is mid autumn festival🥮I missed u sm Leslie!祝哥哥在那邊一切安好!但願人長久,千里共嬋娟。
give us your essay on leslie cheung please
ok I’ll try to keep this short but I just think he was such a great person, he was always himself despite the criticism he received for it. His openness about his bisexuality and his androgyny must have helped so many people, he was really out there pushing boundaries regarding gender and self expression in a fairly conservative country, like the Passion Tour is just one example of that and even though they received some negative comments, so many of those outfits have went on to become iconic. I guess his openness must have allowed so many others to find courage to be their true selves and I think it says a lot that people who only knew him as a celebrity mourned his death for such a long time and that so so many people only ever had positive things to say about him, both while he was alive and after his death.
He always worked so hard and if you watch any of his films, its easy to see how talented he was, even if there was a short time frame to shoot a film, he gave everything he could to make sure his performance was great and I can’t even imagine a different actor starring in his roles because he put so much of himself into them and really made them his own. Roles like Cheng Dieyi and Ho Po-wing are so complex and multi layered and there’s a good reason they’re some of his best known roles. Even in less serious roles in less serious films, he played characters with so much charm and dimension that it’s so obvious why the directors chose him. It was like he was so magnetic and charismatic every time.
He was also really generous and donated so much money to children’s charities. He donated HK$1 million to Hong Kong’s children’s cancer fund, and was a patron of the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation, which he also donated a lot of money to, it wasn’t like they were one off donations either, he regularly donated money to various charities.
It’s really upsetting to think how much he must have suffered in the last year of his life, he made so many people so happy while alive so I hope that, wherever he is now, that he is happy and at peace himself. I hope he knows how loved and cherished he was and still is because he really was such a good person.
