I genuinely hate when people invalidate demiromantic/demisexual/other labels in general by saying somethin like "OMG!!!! why do these labels exist that's how every relationship is!!!!! what has this generation come to?!!?,!?!!"
some people out here are dating someone they just met two days ago. while it literally took me two whole years of getting to know someone before having a crush on them. can y'all please not find excuses to invalidate aspec/arospec people. thanks

"love every trans woman you meet before it's too late" is a tumblr post that is very close to my heart because it was inspired by a friend of mine attempting suicide.
like a lot of people seem to assume it's about the banning and stuff and i mean like it can be. love the trans women in your life before the structures around them isolate them. love them before they feel like they're unloved. yk.
but like.
love every trans woman you meet before it's too late is particularly strong to me because it's literally about a friend of mine i thought it was too late for.
i was too scared of making her uncomfortable to let her know how much i love her and how wonderful it is to know her and how happy i am to have met her. and i thought she was gone.
love every trans woman you meet before it's too late is a reminder to me to always push past that discomfort. to always try to make the trans women in your life feel loved. because we so often feel unlovable.
even if you think your actions speak for themselves, push beyond your fears. tell them directly.
"i love you."
"you're a wonderful force in my life, you make me happy."
"i would miss you when you're gone."
"please come to me with your problems."
"i love you."
let the trans women in your life know exactly how much you care about them. let them know you love them. let them know they're your best friend. let them know you'll always be there for them.
they will doubt they're good enough they'll doubt they're loved they'll doubt everything that gives them value. but take them into your heart and make them feel it.
be their shoulder to cry on.
please don't ever let it be too late.

Shoutout to asexual butches, because I feel like so much that people say about butches is inherently sexual. Do you respect asexual butches? Do you respect butches who don't want to be sexualised or give you sex? Asexual butches I love you <3

i just don’t think “is dude gender neutral” is that productive of a conversation because a word can be gendered and still used regardless of gender. i call my male friends girlypop and my female friends man but i don’t think anybody would agree that those are somehow not gendered terms.
the real question is just “would you be willing to apologize and stop using a word if somebody told you it made them uncomfortable?” the answer to which in a surprising number of cases is no mostly because it seems like overall ppl r more upset abt getting accused of transphobia than they are abt being transphobic

it sucks that aromanticism is still so invisible to the larger population because learning about the aromantic spectrum could benefit so many people!! like whenever i watch reality tv shows about love or dating, i’m struck by the number of people who feel guilty or like something’s broken inside them because they tend to fall out of love once they get into a relationship or form an emotional bond with someone, and like!! that’s not a moral failing or a sign that something’s wrong with you!! it’s just the way attraction works for some people. there are folks who feel like they’re selfish because they’re never as in love with their partners as their partners are with them, and i just wanna hug them and tell them it’s okay.
during the aro “discourse” one of the most common arguments i saw was about “fuck boys” calling themselves aro to “sneak” their way into the queer community, but i feel like you can only come to that conclusion if you don’t see men as real people, because watching men struggle with the feeling that they aren’t enough because of their lack of romantic attraction?? it sucks. especially when everyone’s constantly telling them it means they’re irredeemable, toxic misogynists for something they can’t control. it makes me so upset because like, if someone’s been hurt by “fuck boys” then they should be in favor of opening these kinds of conversations!! because we’re never going to arrive at a place where people can be upfront about their intentions if we don’t have the vocabulary to talk about our unique experiences with attraction
i just feel like the aromantic community has so much to offer, and i wish i had found it sooner because i spent so much time thinking there was something wrong with me before discovering it. seeing how many other people could benefit from learning about the aro spectrum (even if the identities themselves aren’t for them) makes me wanna broadcast the complexities of attraction from the rooftops of the world

Here's your reminder that AFAB doesn't mean that person has breasts and a vagina. That AMAB doesn't mean that person has a flat chest and a dick.
AFAB PEOPLE CAN HAVE DICKS.
AFAB PEOPLE CAN HAVE FLAT CHESTS.
AFAB PEOPLE CAN HAVE BEARDS.
AFAB PEOPLE CAN HAVE DEEP VOICES
AMAB PEOPLE CAN HAVE TITS
AMAB PEOPLE CAN HAVE PUSSIES
AMAB PEOPLE CAN HAVE CURVES
AMAB PEOPLE CAN HAVE HIGH-PITCHED VOICES
Don't let AMAB and AFAB become the progressive binary

fun fact: "guy" "dude" "girl" are all gendered words. even if you use them in a gender neutral way that does not change the undeniably gendered connotations of these words. and trans people are allowed to not want to be misgendered. if a trans person asks you not to call them a word that is perhaps the most gendered a word can be, and your response is "but I use it in a gender neutral way!" i think you need to sit down for a long time and think about why you are so insensitive to other people. especially if you are also a trans person. why are we weaponizing gender neutrality to fuck with other people's dysphoria and act like they are the ones being weird !!!

Fuck it, on this Valentine's Day, here's a post devoted to every single aromantic who fits the negative stereotypes!
Every aroallo, no matter what other labels they use!
Loveless aromantics, especially ones who are loud about not feeling love and refuse to listen to the countless "but what about"s!
Aromantics who don't feel other, even more "universal" attractions, like platonic or familial ones!
Aromantics who lack empathy, who are "cold", who prefer logic over emotion!
Nonhuman aromantics, especially the loveless ones, for whom "Love is what makes us human" is a dismissal in both directions!
Aromantics with trauma, trust issues, or fears of intimacy!
And of course: the aromantics with personality disorders, especially the narcissistic or antisocial aromantics!
If you meet one or more of the above criteria, you are entitled to keep being who the fuck you are and to do so with pride!
Arophobia is not our fault, it is the fault of the arophobes who use our image to justify attacking others. We are hurting nobody just by existing as we are.
No matter what you want in terms of relationships, be that friends with benefits, queerplatonic partners, multiple partners, or no partners at all, ever, I hope you get it!

Latest reblog reminds me of how much it pisses me the fuck off how every queer person alive has to adapt to the usamerican style of queerness lest we get shunned by the community for being too different. I bring this up a lot but bro that time I got death threats for having ele/dele in my bio bc "by using neopronouns I was making a mockery of REAL trans people" when those are literally just my pronouns in my native language, and when I said that I got hit w the "well you're on the internet so speak english" I HATE GRINGOS I HATE GRINGOS I HATE GRINGOS
