Hey how are you how are things ✌ I miss a lot of you guys please move to twitter or something. This is my other bi-monthly post. But this one's actually a fairly in-depth update on my life in case you're interested. First, Bad news: We've been kicked out of our apartment, the old landlords flipped the house with us still in it with no warning, and the new ones are starting to get aggressive about us leaving. There's nothing around us that we can afford because gen.. because the "g" word has literally changed the landscape of our neighborhood in under a year. Property value has gone up almost 50% in 5 years and the mayor's "rezoning" plan has only industrialized the process. Every day it's getting worse and unbelievably worse. I saw a ginger get off on MY block this week. East New York is such a huge part of who I am and it's becoming unrecognizable/impossible to live in for the community that's been here for half a century. I won't get more into it because this post is already long as hell. But suffice it to say, things are fucking scary. So if you can spare a positive thought in my family's direction I'd really appreciate it 🙏 (and moreover, tell your more affluent friends to stop fucking moving to Brooklyn/the Bronx) Okay now, Good news: Since February I've lost almost 70 lbs!! (of the 80 depression lbs I gained since 2015 lol) and I started seeing a therapist weekly. It's been life-changing honestly. Sb: I've broken 4 pairs of glasses in that time too and I feel like that's a lot? They just don't make ones that accommodate juicy Dominican heads. Anyway, the best and most recent news for me is that I'm no longer taking care of my blind (and abusive) father, which I'd been doing ((for free)) for the past 3 years and uhhhhh, ruined my life. So I'm starting to remember what it's like to have agency over my days in some capacity. Something that had been alien to me for what feels like an eternity. I've been essentially in-hiding from the outside world and I'm beginning to dip my toes back in lol. It's been very difficult, but I'm hopeful for the first time in a long time. Long story short: Things are very much hectic, but getting better 🤞 Okay long post over please follow me literally anywhere but here thanks love you
