To the people who asked me about commissions:

I’ll have to change my approach to how I do them slightly with the rise of the latest capitalist hellscape that is N / F / T s so when I reopen them I’ll be making a written contract that explains the process and my clients sign it, it’s basically the same process aside from that so don’t worry! It’s just a necessary layer of protection for all of us involved so it can’t be stolen ❤️

Ahh at this moment in time I can’t give you a date on them officially opening!

What would you do if someone commissioned you for a drawing and then halfway through they vanished. One year goes by and they commission you again and seem to have forgotten the other drawing they bought, what do you do in this situation or do you work with them again?

I can only give my personal opinion on what I’d do:

Depends on the situation of the first commission, if they had already paid you and you’d tried to contact them multiple times in regard to it, it may be a case of asking what happened last time and by your own judgment of their answer, deciding to work with them again or not

But if they’d asked for one, you’d started it and hadn’t been paid and they dropped out without contact, nope, don’t work with them again!

What would you do if you had two friends who were artists like you, there is a gallery opening and important people are going to be there. Both of your friends are competing and the competition to have their work featured is becoming fraught. One of your friends is telling someone on the phone they will do anything to get that spot. The situation starts to enter sabotage territory. What do you do? Especially when the friends have came to you constantly about the situation but both are at each others throats.

Well first I’d re-evaluate your friendships lol

If they’re genuinely thinking of sabotaging and weren’t just joking, then that’s outrageous and you need to stop them/report it.

And warn them that they’ll never win in the long run because word travels fast in the industry. Jobs in the art field are all about networking and being a kind person gets you a lot of places, no one wants to work with an asshole!

But brutal honesty? Tell your friends to get a grip and to stop trying to act out some cheesy teen drama, if they win that’s great, if they don’t there’ll be other opportunities! They should support each other, then whoever wins, you’ll have contacts in the industry that can get YOU in, you see?

I’ve been gone for so long and all I can say is... life is hectic! Every event seems to happen in September and I have a new job that takes up a lot of time as well.

I’m closing commissions now that I have some income coming in (unless I have already agreed to take yours on of course), thank you to all of you who commissioned me for your support!
