I got 6k words into a PQ fic for Throw Away Your Mask before realizing PQ and PQ2 aren't a connecting narrative and to write for both games would require a ton of repeated interactions.

I'm genuinely tweaking rn after reading the lastest chapter. Ik it could just mean *spoilers* is at dojimas House!!! But!! I still NEED to read the next chapter. I wish I could travel in time to the future and read all the chapters... Also O M G. I love akiras and akechis interactions so much!! Like I literally go crazy when they're talking. I ALSO get crazy when i read your fanfic. I reread the fanfic again and squeal at the same damn scenes every time..

Awww thank you! Fortunately the next chapter is only two days away, which is better than the year and a half I left my readers on in a different fic T-T.

Alright guys. So SOMEBODY was telling me that to them, a reasonable oneshot length was up to 25,000 words. And seemed to think this was a completely reasonable take (as a note, they are a writer! this is all lighthearted:]). So, to settle this statement:

Why on earth are you BUYING PHYSICAL BOOKBOUND COPIES OF FANFICTION????

ACTUALLY WHY ARE YOU EVEN BOOKBINDING FANFICTION TO SELL?!?!?!

IF ANY OF YOU DO EITHER OF THESE THINGS, GET OUT!! I AM NEVER SPEAKING TO YOU AGAIN.

In all seriousness though, authors on AO3 have begun to pull their works off of the site to avoid getting sued by people stealing their works to make a pretty bound book for profit. Entire accounts could be shut down as well.

Listen, I’m all for saving favorite works by printing them out and putting them in a binder, or learning how to make a bookbound copy yourself and/or assembling one with a pre-made and purchased fancy binding for a fanfic FOR YOURSELF or AS A GIFT to someone, but making bindings with and putting fanfiction in it TO SELL is where I draw the line.

Literally the entire point of AO3 is that you can read it FOR FREE.

It is DISRESPECTFUL for people to make money off of hardbound copies because guess what, the original creators of these fics get nothing. We are literally only writing fanfiction for our own pleasure.

Buying and selling book-bound fanfiction is also ILLEGAL YOU DUMB SHITS. People who are selling content while claiming to be a book binder is a misconception of their services. Book binders make the covers and all that, not the actual content of the book. Selling fanfiction is also an immediate violation of copyright law / Creative Commons licenses. The original fan work will get erased from the internet.

Fanfiction is already a legal grey zone since they are works being written about are protected by copyright. Copyright holders can in fact go after writers as well as the person who sold the fanfiction.

This also goes for people who steal fanart and, claim it as theirs, and put a price on it.

Don’t make it worse.

rest assured, we can still write our fanfics and make our art.

Buying a binding for you to assemble onto your own fanfiction or fanfiction you printed for PERSONAL USE is fine.

HOWEVER,

Bookbinding fanfiction for profit is literally ruining things for everyone. DON’T.

since p4a or p4au won't be in throw away your mask. I'm interested in how you would write an akechi and sho interaction. especially w akechi's history with ikutsuki

Only talking about Sho in this answer, not Minazuki.

Definitely a lot of emphasis on the parallels between Sho and Akechi, with their issues with manipulative father figures and rejection of friendship/bonds and all that.

The really interesting thing about an interaction between Sho and Akechi during the time of p4 is that Akechi has already gone through a lot of character growth, so when/if Sho totally insults the hell out of the Shadow Operatives and the Investigation Team, Akechi gets all defensive on their behalf. But at the same time, Akechi'd symapthize with hating Ikutsuki, especially since Sho's experiences mirror Akechi's with Shido.

And since as far as I've seen, Sho is very "if you're not for me, you're against me", and Akechi's very much like "why the hell are you making the same stupid decisions I made", they'd probably start shouting at each other very quickly and decide they couldn't stand each other. Sho'd be all like "you're supposed to be on my side", and Akechi'd be all like "you're being RIDICULOUS".

But since Akechi's had character growth, Akechi also probably wouldn't write Sho off completely and instead keep trying to find opportunities to convince Sho to get off the road he's on.

And of course, Sho's constant puns would've driven Akechi up the wall, especially since Sho has adopted a lot of Ikutsuki's mannerisms when it comes to goofy puns.

(If I had known about Sho before I finished writing the fic, I'd probably have written it so that Akechi noticed Sho following IT around and confronted him, and then there'd probably be a social link. Alas, I cannot rewrite over 200k words because of something that would have been neat.)

I genuinely am considering writing a side fic for the spin offs tho. I just have to get around to actually like, playing/watching the spin offs. I'll probably prioritize PQ tho because multiple Akechis in the same room.
