The Satch

With Satriani things is totally different, I always liked to tell the story of how I met him (well, his music), it was in 97, I was looking for new music since I had recently started playing guitar and I always liked solos in The songs, it was so great, I started with songs by Carlos Santana, but that's another story, going back to Satch there was a gallery on Quilca Street in Lima, Peru, an area quite known for the music scene that was there and also You could find music that you didn't listen to on the radios, bands that I had never heard of, riffs and powerful solos that aroused new sensations, so in one of these galleries I asked one of the gentlemen who attended, if he could recommend a good guitarist. and instrumental, since I did not know much, he was just beginning and he replied: "Sure, I have what you are looking for, have you listened to Joe Satriani?", "No sir" I answer him, and he takes out a cassette that was a copy of the original, had his tag ueta of the cover in black and white, since it was a photocopy, and he put it on his cassette player and started ... Surfing with the Alien was the first one that sounded, it turns out that the album that made me listen to Joe for the first time It was the best album of my entire life, nothing was the same after that, then Ice 9 continued, Crushing Day (It blew my mind) then Always with me, always with you, that album marked a before and after in my life. I thank that person very much, then I came back after many years but the man was gone, although to be honest, I don't even remember his face, I was hypnotized by that music. It should be said that after that album, many more of him came, videos, instructional books to play his music, DVDs, Blu-rays, I went to his concert when he was in Lima in 2008. So far it has caused a great impact on me. . I just wanted to share it :). Good day.

Con Satriani la cosa es totalmente distinta, siempre me gustó contar la historia de como lo conocí (bueno, a su música), fue en el 97, buscaba música nueva ya que hace poco había empezado a tocar guitarra y siempre me gustaron los solos en las canciones, era tan genial, empecé con canciones de Carlos Santana, pero esa es otra historia, volviendo a Satch había una galería en la Calle Quilca en Lima, Perú, una zona bastante conocida por la movida musical que había por allá y además que podías encontrar música que no escuchabas en las radios, bandas de las que nunca había escuchado, riffs y solos potentes que despertaron nuevas sensaciones, entonces en una de estas galerías le pregunté a uno de los señores que atendía, si me podía recomendar algún guitarrista bueno e instrumental, ya que yo no conocía mucho, recién empezaba y me responde: "Claro, tengo lo que buscas, ¿has escuchado a Joe Satriani?", "No señor" le respondo, y me saca un casete que era una copia del original, llevaba su etiqueta de portada en blanco y negro, ya que era una fotocopia, y lo colocó en su radio casetera y empezó.... Surfing with the Alien era la primera que sonaba, resulta que el álbum que me hizo escuchar de Joe por primera vez, fue el mejor álbum de la vida entera, nada fue igual después de eso, luego continuó Ice 9, Crushing Day (Voló mi mente) luego Always with me, always with you, ese disco marco un antes y un después en mi vida. Le agradezco mucho a esa persona, luego volví después de muchos años pero ya no estaba el señor, aunque para ser sinceros, ni recuerdo su rostro, me encontraba hipnotizado por aquella música. Cabe decir que después de ese álbum, vinieron muchos más de el, videos, libros instruccionales para tocar su música, DVDs, Blu-rays, me fui a su concierto cuando estuvo en Lima en el 2008. Hasta ahora causa un gran impacto en mí. Sólo quería compartirlo :). Buen día.

Robert Cray

Me inspiré en el último álbum que lanzó “That’s what i heard” es realmente buenísimo y lleno de sentimiento, no ha perdido el toque y tiene una voz tan blusera, de los pocos que quedan de la generación de SRV. El Sr. Cray nos transporta al blues duro y con feeling.

Esta es la primera de varias ilustraciones de guitarristas que tengo planeada. Va a ser muy divertido. La imagen actual está cortada porque fue pensada para un formato de postal, pero al deslizar el dedo podemos ver la otra parte con el nombre. (instagram).

I was inspired by the last album that “That’s what i heard” released. It is really great and full of feeling, it has not lost its touch and has such a bluesy voice, one of the few that remain of the SRV generation. Mr. Cray transports us to the hard and feeling blues.

This is the first of several guitarist illustrations I have planned. It is going to be very fun. The current image is cut off because it was intended for a postcard format, but when we slide our finger we can see the other part with the name. (instagram).
