ugh, okay. i normally wouldn't post something like this to a tumblr i'm supposed to be using for business, but it has to be said: instagram and facebook are suppressing accounts that support Black Lives Matter.

this is super old news to anyone who's been posting on those sites between now and 2018, but it's frustrating because small shops such as my own, that post in support of Black Lives Matter, Land Back, etc., are being banned from advertising. it happened to me, and i've seen other shops say it's happened to them too. this is in addition to the personal accounts that have been muted, banned, or otherwise penalized for posting in support of said movements.

i know i probably "shouldn't" be posting about political stuff to a business account, but if i choose to, then it is my right to do so. how is it that large companies get rewarded for using BLM and the pandemic to push their products onto us, but when a shop with 7 whole sales posts about a petition you can sign to their story, they get banned from advertising?

i'm going to be posting to tumblr and twitter about my shop more often now, since i'll be deleting instagram and facebook. in the meantime, here are some links to donate to Black Lives Matter, Land Back, and Asian Americans Advancing Justice.
