The Layla and Majnun story and for James to read to Cordelia when she was wounded after doing something brave.

James to call Cordelia ‘Layla’. (Even “Daisy, my Daisy” didn’t feature…)

The line “I suffered every thorn for you I would again”.

Chess games where they revealed things to each other?

Second marriage runes.

For the Belial confrontation to be more Herondaisy focused.

A proper love confession. Like Will had his whole Tale of Two Cities “Last dream of my soul” speech, I was convinced James would have a “to the last hour of my life” love declaration.

The novella is 100% Matthew I think, she said on some live that if she were to do a novella on any of the Tlh characters it would be Matthew!

I’m so confused after finishing Chain of Thorns.. how are you feeling?? How would you rate it in comparison to Chog and Choi and are you happy with it overall as a conclusion for these characters? (I’m so selfish I need more..)

Oh oh Chot is my 3 fav book from all TSC series so far. But I have 4 issues with it

1)not enough Jordelia

2)no Gabrily reaction to u know what

3)no Malcolm/Annabel interactions

4)what about "I didn't choose this life"?

But I genuinely enjoyed everything else🥹i love how Mathew's alcoholism topic was handled, I absolutely love how Matthew and James supported each other even during some fights (they had even more sweet deep moments than Will/Jem, I said what I said), HERONDALE FAMILY ADOPTING JESSE and being loving chaotic family 🥹 SO MUCH Thomastair content omfg, fandom screamed SO DAMN LOUD that Cassie could have heard them from the moon

Every Christopher/Grace interaction, I was never their biggest fan, but THOSE DAMN MOMENTS did something to me🥺Plus CC remembered! that 8 years ago she said Lottie and Henry will have twin daughters 🫶🏻Oh and Matthew's letter to James🤌🏻 I'm SO GLAD Cassie let him being alone for a while, gave him some time to travel, to learn more about himself and the world around him. OH AND SHE FINALLY REMEMBERED ABOUT DAISY/LUCIE INTERACTIONS GOD HEARD MEEEEE

Of course I also need more, but I know we'll definitely have more: novella about one of the TLH characters + Jordelia extended scene (18+ version)

I loved the way it was written we got so much of everyone!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I did too! I loved so much of what we got in this book but I thought there was an issue with cohesion. It read as a collection of scenes to me and not a cohesive story… Love all the characters though and I think Matthews story was done quite well, the romantic relationships (side ones especially) were fun to read (Anna and Ari’s relationship was developed so well in this book as compared to Choi for example). I also really liked the epilogue…

I liked Chain of Thorns overall but the pacing in this book was fucking insane… it feels like a 100k word fan-fiction, not a novel. Things continuously happened but I felt she was trying to leave all the bigger plot points open until the very end which just didn’t read well, it felt oddly rushed yet somehow dragged out.
