A lot of people villianize Bloberta, they think because she introduced him to alcohol that she's the reason he's a terrible person and ignore the episode about Clay's childhood and the warning signs there was always something messed up in Clay long before he met Bloberta.

putty is pathetic at romance hand up. like hes is DESPERATE. but he eventually moved from it? kinda. he is still a limp-dicked loser for treating Florence like that, but at least he feels bad for it and has some kind of remorse and probably won't hide from these feelings.

clay is delusional though. and he is pathetic in general bc of how much he tries to convince everyone around him and himself that he is not a pathetic mess but actually a big deal. and in part bc he is painful aware of it but he tries to run away from it. he is in such a thick denial it's crazy. and every time his bubble is burst he has the most miserable and pathetic meltdown ever bc the damage goes directly at his immature vulnerable ego. that in itself is pathetic like damn

I think Clay is better at acting as if he’s not pathetic but I’m still going to have to go with Clay because he stays like that throughout the whole show while Putty at least has some positive development and gets less pathetic later on
