I know so much of the pre-election messaging is like VOTE!!! VOTE!!! IF YOU DON’T VOTE YOU’RE A MONSTER!! and that can get tiring after so many elections. So I want to take a moment after this election to say: so many of you clearly did get out and vote, despite not always having the most inspiring options, and with SO much on the line 18-29 year olds specifically helped win some of the most important and impactful races across America. So from one of the many “just vote” scolds on the internet: thank you!!

Reminder to those who don't experience hallucinations/reality breaks:
Please tag your AI generated posts as unreality or the name of the generator you're using. The distorted faces/backgrounds/objects can be fun to look at and joke on but they aren't schizophrenia/psychosis friendly and can cause a major problem to anyone who is triggered by seeing things like that. Courtesy should be taken to make sure the people who want to see it can, and the ones who don't won't have to panic at a new AI trend making them have an episode.
As much as we all try to curate experiences, and sometimes tagging doesn't work, it should be noted that, at least putting the tags there is a sign that you've thought about others potentially being put at risk for a reblog or post. It's understood that sometimes it's forgotten and that's okay, but please respond and listen to others when they ask to tag AI generated posts and reblogs.
(Please spread this around, a new AI trend is going around and this could be the difference between someone just being set off for 30 mins, and being set off and accidentally put in the hospital.)

the book interpreting the reader. the book reading the reader. the book refusing cooperation with its reader and turning them towards the sun like a rough gem that only glows at one angle, the other angles lifeless. the reader is a passive thing squeezed into shape by the strong grip of a book

question. I keep reading resources that talk about people releasing multiple books a year, sometimes up yo 4 books a year. and my question is: how??
let’s say you write a first draft and it takes a month (that’s already very fast, assuming this is like, 70k or something). let’s say you send to beta readers, and they take a month to read. then another month to revise, another month to revise again. that’s already 4 months.
then if you work with an editor and a cover designer, that’s…at least another month? plus time to address the editor’s notes. plus time to format after.
so like…how are people starting and releasing books within a 4 month timespan? are they publishing the 1st draft? 2nd draft? not using an editor? not doing beta readers?
maybe I’m a slow writer, but I really don’t feel like what I could churn out in 4 months would be ready to be published…
