Holidays with the Cryptids! Happy Holidays everyone ♥

Another Fakemon! This based on Mothman, but also other supernatural phenomena like will-o-the-wisps/ghost-lights. They’re both Bug/Dark types, and Evolve with a Dusk Stone. Epptid’s name is a combo of “eep” (like a surprised/frightened noise) and “cryptid”. Mythtid is a combo of “myth” and “cryptid”. I really wanted to make this look different than some of the other Mothman Fakemon I’ve seen, which was tricky (for Eeptid, I used the baby moths I made a long time ago for a picture with Dib from Invader ZIM as ref). Instead of using red for the eyes, I used pale-blue (for the wisp/ghost-light vibe). Mythtid’s wings are also a bit like certain depictions of biblical angels, very BE NOT AFRAID.

Eeptid’s eyes and wings glow in the dark, illuminating the dark forests where they live. Even in the wild, they can be bribed by people to help them find paths in the night, though travelers who are new to the area might be frightened by the mysterious lights that flutter close. Mythtid has a double-set of wings with unique shapes. When not flying, the “hind wings” can be used as legs, and the “fore wings” are able to reach out for climbing or holding things. Although very intimidating, they are gentle unless provoked. They literally feed on moonlight and have no physical mouths, but are able to communicate vocally by making sounds through their antennae
