crazy how India can have the largest labor strike in world history and it doesn’t even make the news in the US. it’s almost like they don’t want us to know we can demand better working conditions

Nearly 250 million workers start strike in India

250,000,000 people participated in India

For reference that’d be ~75% of the US population

That many people working together for fair labor laws

And most of the western world hasn’t even heard about it

1 out of every 30 people in the entire WORLD participated in this strike and you haven’t heard about it

4x more people participated than the number of people in the world who have tested positive for covid and you haven’t heard about it

This should be a massive story. Why haven’t you heard about it? Theres a very specific reason.

I hate to break it to you but, barely anyone in INDIA has heard about it. It’s very deliberately being silenced. Please read the article, with a sympathy for Indian workers and not to compare yourself.

This news is from Nov 27 2020, just in case you’re wondering

I started writing a slow burn fanfic purely just for fun.

Tbh it’s hard to write about romantic tension when you’re really not that romantic and you’re not even sure how love feels like even though you’ve probably been in love before, you just (1) got shocked from all the feelings and (2) invalidated your own feelings until you totally forgot about them and her.

Now that I think about it, I am good at writing slow burn but it never gets romantic, unless someone gets their head out of their asses. Which is a process and is hardly ever romantic.

Y'all what’s the most technical way you’ve ever been roasted by a mental health professional? Mine is that I “seek out fatherly figures in romantic relationships”

“It’s obvious to me you’re depressed. I mean, look at you!”

Me, with unwashed hair, a developing acne, severely underweight and eyebags that could hold the weight of my existence: “…true doe”

But I’m not mad, they helped me so much and I’m forever grateful for that.

hold a cold rag/tissue to your eyes and anywhere else that tends to get red or blotchy for two minutes

regulate your breathing so your blood flow evens out

fix your makeup and make sure you’re not sweaty

or go to the hills. go to the forest or the desert or that little park a few blocks away and just sit.

notice the way the clouds twist in the sky, or the specific shade of blue it is, or how the fog whites out the tops of the buildings.

listen to the waves, listen to the wind. watch the little birds run and fly and play. let the bird of your heart play, too.

capture this feeling. write it down, if you need to. make a voice memo on your phone. let the calm and hope and love for the world sink into your body.

remember this, when everything is busy and loud. you can always go to nature. you can always go home.

My dad just revealed to me that we have one of those papers you can print something on and you can iron it on a shirt and you get a graphic tee basically.

SO now I’m in a dilemma about what to print. The topics are:

- snarky statements

- bands

- dad jokes

- gay statements (i live in a homophobic country so i have to be careful about this one)

- vintage

- cryptids

- just a cool design ig idk

I don’t study genocides war crimes and human rights for fun. I study it bc my people have been at the foot from the very first genocide of the 20th century and previous attempts to exterminate my entire race. The fact that no one is speaking up when another genocide is at the brink of occurring to the ethnic Armenians living in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) is mind blowing. I have to say I’m not surprised by the lack of effort - Americans, especially, are the most self interested humans I’ve met. This isn’t about narrative, this is about rapid belligerent individualism. We can philosophize all day about it but at the end - people don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves. There is rarely any altruism left in this world. As Monte said, no ones gonna fight for us, we will have to fight on our own to survive. The alternative is not an option.

I need every Nigerian and non-Nigerian across the world to TWEET/RETWEET and POST/REBLOG about #EndSARS to amplify what’s happening in Nigeria right now. The government ordered the military to shoot and kill peaceful protesters last night. Crimes against humanity are being committed against innocent civilians right now.
