I can’t even begin to describe the disgust I have for people of this opinion. A dragon is not a slave and not a toy children should fight over or race to get to first. This mentality implies that rhaena is at fault for simply grieving and not rushing to get a dragon for the sake of not having one. There really is a difference in the way the two Targaryen children without dragons (aemond and rhaena) were raised and treated. While I’m sure Baela likely teased her sister to some degree it was never at the level Aemond received torment about it and I do think this played a massive role in him just deciding to go and try to claim vhagar.

What I find interesting is that Vhagar was never truly given a choice between who she wanted for her rider this go around and the thought of what could’ve been and what that would’ve meant for the dance is fascinating. But with this I also say that if Rhaena was to go down and claim Vhagar the night of her mother’s funeral not only would it be out of character but the backlash would be insane. So it’s a dammed if you do dammed if you don’t.

The point of all this is that yes it’s a fictional story but you do characters a disservice when you fail to apply critical thinking and insight into their actions. I understand why Aemond went about things the way he did but it doesn’t mean I think it was right. The same way I get why Rhaena thought she’d have time to try with Vhagar because no one let alone a child would think that on the same night they said their goodbyes to their mother someone would basically be an opportunist and take something directly correlated to her memory. Also they were both raised completely differently. But now is not the time to critique Alicents “parenting” lol. Point being maybe think before you say that Rhaena should’ve went to Vhagar first if she really wanted her. Context is key

Castlevania is the proof that ASOIAF should’ve truly been an animated series it captures the essence of the source material so beautifully. This is what medieval fantasy can be when allowed to thrive. Medium truly matters.

The original game of thrones show worked in its format because the creators stripped down the magical parts and cut them to make it “easier to understand” for audiences unfamiliar with the source material. Which is just a cheap way of saying they couldn’t be arsed. The dance of the dragons should’ve been animated. This is a time where magic was thriving in Westeros, dragons were abundant. It was truly medieval fantasy but instead the live action just creates a darkness and doesn’t really give what is needed. To be able to see the height of the Targaryen dynasty with colourful gorgeous dragons and castles that you’d genuinely just sit in awe wondering how the architects made it. This could’ve been accomplished with animation. Now here I am thinking about what could’ve been.

Sigh.

It’s so annoying that every season of the boys ends with Homelander somehow getting away with every terrible thing he’s done that season and it sucks that Gen V ended that way too. I understand that they’re likely building to a supe-primacy war in s4 of the boys and the after effects shown in s2 of Gen V but it’s literally Jarring!

It’s like if game of thrones never killed Joffrey or Ramsey keeping them around for shock value. In the comics Homelander literally gets obliterated but in the show they’ve already killed the person who does it. There’s allegories and direct parallels to real life within the show however the way they refuse to let that man get his Karma is infuriating.

I think it’s interesting that some people saw Marie begging Cate to reverse the push she gave her and and let her save Shetty or at least try to and decided to clown Marie for it. Cate has been through a lot and Shetty is despicable for trying to commit genocide but it doesn’t mean Cate has the right to hurt her “friends”. She made Marie in particular relive her most agonising trauma twice in under 48hrs that was wrong. Killing Shetty may be a small justice but the methods that she achieved it with were wrong.
