Not an ""official post"" but while I'm thinking about it ..
I will allegedly at some point get Etsy listings up for the fall/winter season ... But probably not today. I do have an Etsy show (Adventure Beans), but honestly most of my sales have not been done through there. BUT anyway I will have time this weekend for sewing sooo if anyone has considered getting dog jammies in the past, feel free to contact me if you'd be interested in ordering.
My supplies are a bit limited soooo building up some funds to get more fabric (plus uhh some groceries because I'm Really Poor right now cuz the bank keeps taking my paychecks) would be nice. Soooo limited time deal for anyone who happens to come across this and maybe wants to order: $30 (Canadian) for a sweater/jacket, $40 for jammies. Plus shipping - and I will ship internationally but it will be at cost.
Sadly this is basically all the patterned fabric I have until I can do a supplies shop:

I have various solid colours for cuffs.
Some various examples:

I have plenty more, this post won't let me put any more photos though.
Can change them in various ways as well. Sleeveless, solid colour on the belly, mixed different patterns, solid coloured sleeves, no cuffs, no neck cowl, longer or shorter cuffs/cowl, etc. I don't generally keep enough large pieces of solid colours to do solid coloured stuff BUT depends on the dog's size. I don't work off a pattern, I design the pattern custom fit to each dog's measurements and specifications. They tend to fit better that way. Storebought dog clothes with standard sizing just don't fit weirdly shaped dogs well. I've done sweaters for a lot of Great Danes, tiny dogs, chesty Bully mixes, Greyhounds, chesty but skinny neck English Cocker Spaniels, my weird long backed mutt, my weird barrel shaped mutt, etc.

God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?

I have a knitted bear I got from a domestic violence crisis center when I was having A Time, and god damn if that thing didn't bring me so much comfort. Just... there was a stranger who made a thing then gave away to someone who might like it. Someone cared enough that I might need something comforting and frivolous and unnecessary. I'm a knitter myself, so I knew it wasn't that fancy of a project, and frankly the top stitched face is kind of creepy, but... I had something to hold onto at night, when I was sleeping on a friend's floor and as suicidal as I've ever been. The fact that someone else made something, not just bought something and donated it but actually Made a Thing... I will loose my shit if anyone ever touches Jeremy Bearimy.

My mom is still involved in this charity/knitting project where they send stuff (mostly wool baby blankets ect) to a hospital in Nepal and today we got a package from the family of an elderly woman who spends her nursing home days knitting children’s socks.

At a new school, and I've already aggravated my wrist. Why? The locks require a shit-ton of force to open, and I tend to carry things in my right hand because the left has nerve damage, so guess which hand ends up unlocking things? The one with 2.5 fully functional fingers.

I am currently away from the office and have intermittent access to email. If your email is not urgent I will in all likelihood still reply within 10 minutes due to ineffective self-regulation and an inability to maintain work-life balance.

I, a non-caffine drinker, had a matcha tea thing like 5 hours ago. It was very tasty, but I have subsequently pooped four times. How quickly am I dying?

Okay, dog sports/competition obedience/literally all organized dog activities question:
Pickles has a bum elbow.  He sat with an untreated break of some kind in a shelter for 5 months, so by the time he got to me the arthritis was so bad the damn thing looked like a crumbled saltine cracker in an x-ray.  We’ve found a med combo that manages the inflammation and pain when we push too far, have done some conditioning with the muscles surrounding that joint, and our vet is happy with where he is and has deemed that there isn’t an elevated risk of injury with physical activity.
If you’re not looking for a limp, you wouldn’t notice anything, but if you are, Pickles has a gait that slightly favors his good leg when he gets tired, and if he’s tired and moving fast he’ll do this occasional skip-step thing where he will omit a step on his bad leg.  This isn’t anything that’s ever going to go away for him, just something that we’re going to have to manage with our vet.
Every dog activity rule book that I’ve looked at has rules about lame dogs.  Which totally make sense to protect the health of dogs -- he’d love it, but there’s no way in hell I’m ever putting Pickles in agility or flyball.  But something like rally, or barn hunt, or canine freestyle, where I know (but maybe not the event staff?) that there isn’t any risk of injury because of his leg, and it seems like something we’d both have a LOT of fun doing... if I register Pickles, are we going to be automatically disqualified because of his leg?

“In thinking through these issues, I have found what I believe to be a connecting and complex theme: what I have come to call "the culture of power." There are five aspects of power I would like to propose as given for this presentation:
1. Issues of power are enacted in classrooms.
2. There are codes or rules for participating in power; that is, there is a “culture of power.”
3. The rules of the culture of power are a reflection of the rules of the culture of those who have power.
4. If you are not already a participant in the culture of power, being told explicitly the rules of that culture makes acquiring power easier.
5. Those with power are frequently least aware of or least willing to acknowledge its existence. Those with less power are often most aware of its existence.”

Every now and then I find my feelings about the ubiquity of "just ask for someone's pronouns" as though that's just the only, uncomplicated point of view.
