Haunted Lighthouse

With the spooky season on the way, I thought I should share some ghosts. Inspired by a haunted lighthouse I visited on the Oregon coast, this is my rendition of Muriel. Having dropped her handkerchief, Muriel returned to the lighthouse she’d been visiting with her friends in Newport. While her friends waited for her to return, they heard a horrible scream. They ran back inside the lighthouse, only to find three drops of blood and her bloodied handkerchief.

I support this ship.

I realize it's not a popular sentiment like at all, but I super ship Laudna/Ashton.

My reasons so far are thus:

The goth/punk solidarity is strong

Ashton has been very vocal about thinking Laudna is cool and awesome since Day 1 and likes her just the way she is where most others have been put off by her whole dead lady vibe

When they were fighting the wall mimic and Ashton went to grab a super roughed up Laudna and pull her out of danger - "[creepy Laudna voice] My hero!"

Ashton quietly hanging out with Laudna at the ball when she's all alone

Ashton checking in on Laudna after her bad day in the mines and trying to comfort her in his own way

"Maybe we can learn something about ourselves together." "I really enjoy you. It's really a pleasure." *Ashton clinks his mug with Pâté de Rolo in cheers with Laudna*

Late night watch faerie shenanigans featuring Laudna squishing Ashton's head against hers so he can see what she sees

Utterly breakable spellcaster + brick shithouse tank is a good dynamic

Baby Monsters: Mothman 

Years ago, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia a little baby mothman was born. He was very hungry and wanted to eat some wooly socks, but everyone ran away screaming when he tried to ask. Now he lives in the woods with the birds, gnawing on any tasty socks that people leave behind, but he'd be more than happy to come an live with you. Just be sure to have a supply of socks you don't mind him eating.

Till Humanities Last Breath

The Long Peace at an end,

Pandemic sweeping the land.

Our world expanded, yet so divided.

Our grandparents sold us dreams of peace, yet history only seems to be retold.

We’re a ship being tossed about in a raging storm, struggling to keep afloat for futures yet untold.

No ship can sail on lies.

Plagues, wars, and evil men will always come; for when we are complacent the snake slips in, spreading poison to all men.

There will be more wars, more plagues, and racisms pain cannot be washed away.

So take these hard learned lessons, for futures we might yet earn.

For while the ship seems to be sinking fast, we are not lost till humanities last breath.

(It’s been a while since I’ve written any poetry, but current events inspired this poem. I hope it speaks to people.)

Frankenstein (Adam) Day 3 of Drawlloween. While the idea of Dr. Frankenstein raising a man back from the dead is iconic. I think the idea of the monster’s time out in the wilds of the world is the most tragic. A being raised from the dead, is abandoned, trying to understand his existence in a world that won’t accept him.
