─┈ in which the cloud general of the xianzhou luofu finds peace in how you smile.
ㅤ─┈ jing yuan x gender neutral reader. a small drabble to kick start this blog!
❪⠀themes : fluff & romance!⠀❫
as the general of the xianzhou luofu and the most important man present in the ship, jing yuan has always been surrounded by people who were related to his work. yanqing, his young and dutiful retainer. fu xuan, master diviner of the divination commission. yukong, helm master of the sky—faring commission.
it isn’t uncommon to see jing yuan surrounded by extremely important people; asides, when he’s leaving work to find a good place to nap. the general of the xianzhou luofu is also a member of the seven arbiter general of the cloud knights and the six charioteers.
what was uncommon, though, was to see jing yuan be accompanied by a perfectly normal person that resided in the xianzhou luofu. commonfolk would clamor you once the general left your side to attend his duties, questioning why the ever so elusive and mysterious cloud general spend time with you.
though your answer— “he finds my presence enjoyable! we play chess often.” — would often leave them unsatisfied, only jing yuan would be able to answer that. perhaps fu xuan too, if she dared to rely on her divination. she wouldn’t, though. not after jing yuan himself warned her not to.
jing yuan found peace in your smile.
the first time he saw you smile, he was out with yanqing, surveying the busied streets of the ship. people parted for the general, offering their respects and well—wishes, which he was immensely grateful for. no matter how many times the people in the ship thanked him, jing yuan found it heartwarming all the while.
and yet—nothing could quite compare to your smile.
optics of molten gold catches sight of your smile—his eyes, ever so charming yet meticulous, hidden behind curtains of white. the cloud general found himself stunned; rooted to the spot, as he gazes at your smile. perhaps for others, it was another smile in the sea of other smiles, but it was different for the dozing general.
he finds himself drawn to it—to the way your eyes sparkled slightly in the sunlight, how your smile made the corners of your hues crinkle. the full cheeks, dusted by roses blooming ethereally, partnered with the soft laugh you let out—his favorite melody, unbeaten.
it was not a question of “why?”, but a statement of “because.”
why was jing yuan drawn to you? because he found your smile utterly captivating, he loves seeing you smile, he loves hearing you laugh—like the first taste of iced cold tea after a long day of training, akin to the sweet—sourness of lemongrass steeped into it. or, maybe even the first beam of sunlight after tedious cold nights. if jing yuan was a retired soldier who became a poet, he’d compare your smile to the first glances of light after a long battle, to the glow of a healer’s ability after suffering from an arduous wound.
for jing yuan, your smile was light itself; and as the cloud general of the xianzhou luofu, he found peace in it.

admin dawn here!
i am so so so sorry for disappearing for MONTHS. i had a lot to do in school and i’m a graduating student, so my workload has been stressing me out lately. the amount of work i have as well as my added work from being a class representative + student council took a toll on me and i went on an indefinite hiatus without informing anyone. i apologize for that.
good news is—! summer break is close and i can finally write more !!! ♡ i’ve missed writing but i haven’t had the time, as i already explained.

&&. fairy tale is a genshin impact x honkai impact event created by yours truly as a way to celebrate for reaching the blog’s anniversary
&&. this event features you, the reader, as a herrscher, in teyvat. in simpler terms, a herrscher is is an envoy, or rather apostle of the honkai, who inhabit human vessels that are capable of adapting to it, manifesting out of the host's negative emotions
&&. in more simpler terms, a herrscher is equivalent to a god or an archon, maybe even more powerful than that.
how does it work?
&&. you can request anything regarding you as a herrscher. may it be angst, fluff, or random headcanons.
&&. this event can either be romantic or platonic! it’s your choice. every character we listed in our character list is open to our event.
any rules?
&&. please always check out our rules before requesting. keep in mind we do not write smut, and only suggestive content and nothing else.
&&. in a headcanon we have a four character limit, in a scenario we have a two character limit.
&&. we will try to make everything gender neutral if the request does not feature a specified gender.

the hell we call college.
summary. the genshin cast as your typical college students, with a sprinkle of angst and a topping of mutual pining.
pairings. childe, diluc, venti, albedo x gender neutral reader.
warnings. not beta read so there will be mistakes! cliche romance tropes used because i’m a sucker for them </3 slight alcohol mention! will make another part with different characters !! <3
CHILDE.
the famous frat boy who is part of a varsity team. you met childe when you were only in highschool and he was quite the troublemaker, which ended up in you being his tutor so he doesn’t fail class. he pays well so you had no complaints and he was pretty fun to he with, if you count out the fights he always got himself into. oh? he has a younger brother? oh??? apparently childe likes you?? and he’s claimed you as his, giving you his varsity jacket to show everyone that you’re off limits? how bold ( or cute, your mind supplied ) of him.
DILUC.
filthy rich student council president who seems so closed off. you think he hates you, with the way he glares at you but poor diluc is just awkward and he thinks you’re pretty neat and wants to befriend you, bless his soul. the gods answer his prayers when you become his partner for a project and you took a ride in his BMW. you are blessed by the sight of diluc reverse parking and you realize he’s actually pretty cute, sincere compliments left him turning as red as his hair and you think you want to spend more time with the untouchable diluc ragnvindr.
VENTI.
infamous for his god tier alcohol whenever he hosts his parties. his music taste is also god tier and his parties are always talked about for months. you don’t think much of him and his parties, only wanting to survive college and venti does Not like that! so he bugs you, invites you to his parties but you always decline with a nice smile. so instead, venti brings the party to you. he’s banging at your door at three am in the morning when you’re internally dying for an exam, with his alcohol on hand and a dazzling grin on his face and somehow, you think as you open the door for him, being with venti is so fulfilling.
ALBEDO.
you know of albedo for only two things: one, he’s too intelligent for his own good and two, he’s like prince charming in real life, minus the romantic aura. albedo looks like a disney prince but instead of roses, he holds chemical solutions. and instead of sweetened words he gives you a sharp gaze that makes you feel stupid. the only reason you got to communicate with him was when you brought his little sister back to their home when she got lost and apparently klee likes you so much, he had to invite you over and over and over until he’s the one who yearns for your presence.

VENTI.
as the archon of freedom, he had no choice to dictate someone’s decision. it hurts and it clutches at his heart when you shake your head and walk away from him, from the relationship the both of you built together.
he appears to be okay. he’s cheerful and loud. he still plays the lyre and goes to angel share to drink. but those who truly knows venti notices it.
his songs are more … sad in nature. he can barely drink more that one cup of wine. there is a certain sadness in those wizened eyes of his and his laughter sounds forced.
venti wished and wished and wished that you take him back. you were the only good thing he had but because of his stupidity he let you go and now? you were gone.
mondstadt is affected as well. the winds that were once gentle sometimes becomes too strong in response to venti’s emotions. it’s only when dvalin tells him to calm down that he realizes he is affecting his people.
venti will always look at your form, will always long and yearn but he holds himself back. he is not worthy of your love and of your care. he is not worthy of you at all.
you will find someone better. that thought hurts more than he thought he would.
( his songs no longer hold the same cheer it once did. )

he pulls out a glaze lily out of nowhere and proclaims his love for you. he uses so much flowery and cool words your head spun for a moment.
you try your best to stifle your laughter as xingqiu proclaims his love to you with a glaze lily in hand, amber eyes glinting earnestly. you really were lucky to have him, you think to yourself. whilst he was distracted in trying to woo you, you yank him up to his feet and locked your leg behind his, making him stumble.
you rest your hands on his waist, preventing him from falling. his eyes have gone wide and red dusts his cheeks, making you smile. “the tables have turned, my love.” you tease him, laughing at how his face reddened even more.
he truly was so cute.
