namjoon from BTS is narrating the audio guide for ten pieces featured in the los angeles museum of art’s new korean exhibition. he got to choose which pieces he narrated, and for one he chose to talk about rha hye-seok, the pioneer of korean feminism — and he specifically did this during south korea’s current rising incel/anti-feminism movement

I know that people are going to hate but I have to say it. I absolutely loath the way that Lore Olympus is heading. It doesn’t even follow Greek mythology anymore and why did the author have to make her so young compared to the other gods, like it’s borderline feeding into pe*ophilia. And the way that it discusses s/h and trauma is awful. And the art is just basic to say the least, yes it’s beautiful but utterly basic and not at all consistent, you can take any sketch of Persephone and color it anything and it’s another goddess. It seems like Persephone is plus size in some chapters and in others her entire art form is redone and she no longer looks plus size.

so in an among us game the other night, a player in chat said “does anyone want to get married?”

and bc i was in it for shits and giggles, i said “yes”

he asked where we should get married and i told him we’d meet in comms, which was right at the end of that round. we started the next game, ran to comms together and danced around each other for a minute, which constituted our marriage ceremony. he then proceeded to just run around with me as we did tasks, which amused me to no end, and in out first body report meeting, he exclaimed, “I’M A MARRIED MAN.”

and then, inevitably, an impostor ran right up to us and murdered me. my new video game husband immediately reported my body.

everyone voted blue immediately, successfully avenging me

and then. the twist. my husband got caught murdering.

i’m not linking the book synopsis because i hate her and i don’t want to give anyone the site traffic for her hateful decisions but jk rowling is releasing a book where a cis man dresses as a muslim woman so he can murder people and it’s so cruel and disgusting and blatantly transphobic and islamophobic and fuck jkr and fuck anyone who continues to agree with her violent bigotry or even defend her she’s pushing and monetizing false rhetoric that demonizes incredibly vulnerable groups of people who are exponentially more likely to be murdered than to murder and will do nothing but give bigots license to harm people they see as not conforming to their antiquated and damaging ideas of gender expression and religious dress fuck her so much

Right now Oregon and California are experiencing one of the worst wildfires to date. The sky is orange and everything smells like a campfire and I'm bad at articulating but it's really serious. Thousands have had to evacuate and lost they're homes in the process. I don't like talking about topical stuff on the blog v often but I'm in the midst of the evacuation zone in Oregon and shits scary. I'm afraid of losing my home and I'm afraid for my family and friends.

Idk what the point is of this post but I feel like not many people outside of the northwest know how bad it is rn cus it's bad. The moment I find donation links I'll link them to this post but I haven't found any yet. And if you're in the northwest rn, please be safe.
