Malcolm's speech about how family can only accept so much and that the online sleuth group will abandon the killer is obviously him projecting his own fears that the team will reject him once they realize what he did to Endicott. However, I wonder if this is also foreshadowing for his future with Ainsley. He was willing to protect her before, but now he knows what she's capable of. Not just the murder, but the cruel prank and the lack of remorse she had for anything she did so long as she came out on top. Malcolm is in denial now, but he can't unsee what he knows. Martin hinted at it earlier, albeit crediting the feelings to the wrong kid. Ainsley's tasted her first blood and the thrill of getting away with it. She'll crave it again, and once she does act on the impulse, I don't think Malcolm will react the same way. There's only so much he's willing to excuse before he has to admit that dear ol' dad isn't the only Whitly that must be stopped.

A lightbulb went off in my head when I started talking about how that big reveal at the end of episode seven. First of all, big spoilers ahead of 2x07 if you haven't watched it, and if you have, here are my two cents that no one asked for:
First of all, let's just talk about how cruel hat was of Ainsley! I'm all for letting her murder as a treat, but emotionally manipulating her brother is so hurtful, I'm at a loss for words! The guy has been torn up for months about what she did - cleaned up after her and everything - only for her to tell him to "lighten up"?? Wow!
After the big finale of season 1, it's pretty much assumed that she would follow in her father's murderous footsteps, leaving everyone wondering if or when the next body was going to drop. While she may have done the deed, there is a hell of a lot more that connects her to her father other than murder.
Think about it. When Ainsley bought that vat of pig's blood, she had one thing in mind: to emotionally torture her brother. So, when she walked into his loft and sat there on his couch for who knows how long, quietly adjusting her clothes to make it seem believable, what was going on in her head? Then when she opens her coat, think about how she acted. Shocked, surprised, scared, upset, used dissociation as a cover, put Malcolm in a terrible position by claiming that she "had no one else to turn to", and has him clean up her mess yet again.
Ainsley knows Malcolm will do anything to protect her, and I have no doubt that she is going to wear him out by using that to her advantage.
Classic emotional manipulation.
Oh, and while I'm at it, let's make a quick checklist.
Was her prank calculated? Yes. Elaborate, stretched on for weeks/months.
Exploitative? Very much so.
Does Ainsley lack empathy? Yes, even in her day-to-day life.
Cunning and manipulative? Yes - anything to fit the narrative.
Fail to form genuine emotional relationships? Yes - Jin being a prominent example (from what we've seen so far)
Check, check, and check. All classic traits of psychopathy. I am no psychiatrist or licensed professional to start throwing out diagnoses, however, the red flags are clear as day and unmistakable.
I can draw the similarities between her actions and Martin's all day if I wanted to then go on a rant for days, but the picture is clear: Ainsley is her father's daughter in every sense of the word.
What's sad is that Malcolm could've seen through the lie if this were a case to solve, but this is family, and he's been running around trying to do his best to protect his sister from their father (even though she clearly doesn't need saving). He no longer knows the sister he knew - and now he can trust the one person he thought he was most closest to.
And all I can think about is her stepping in the shower, tossing her clothes into the garbage can Malcolm gave her, and smiling under the spray of hot water. She won, and that made her giddy. She pushed Malcolm to the edge, and probably relished in the horror on his face when she showed him the stains. His near-freak-out? She must've loved it.
That scared look on his face, knowing that a little blood has him scrambling around the loft to cover her, creating a full-scale plan to figure out who she murdered, taking care of her and protecting her like a good brother (though he's very susceptible to manipulation and I'm pretty sure she at this point she understands how Martin made it look so easy).
Who knows if Ainsley went through a dissociative state after killing Endicott. For all we know, everything from up to this point has been a complete lie and a game to see how far she could push her brother. If she is capable of doing this, how much of their relationship is a genuine, healthy sibling bond? Has it all been a lie from the start?
There is a level of consciousness in her actions.
She knew what she did, what she's doing, and she doesn't feel remorse for her actions. A chip off the old block.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: JT has the best sense of self-preservation out of all of them. When it comes to survival, JT has the brain cell.

I know, right? At least they said Dani was out for vice and JT was dealing with his first child. Edrisa was just not there.
I find it messed up that Edrisa didn’t make a cameo in Malcolm’s dream..
