Do you know why on the 1988 Japanese movie poster for Totoro, there's just 1 girl waiting at the bus stop, who kinda looks like both the girls combined? I just got the poster and for a second I thought it was a cheap fake but apparently that's real. I'm curious!
Hayao Miyazaki originally wrote the story with just one girl, which as you say, looks like Mei and Satsuki combined. So a lot of the original concept art for the film (including the original poster), features just this one girl.

But just before the production of the film, Hayao Miyazaki decided to “split” the character into two separate characters. This is not only the reason why Mei and Satsuki have both taken half of the charactarists of the original character, but also why they are named as they are. Satsuki is Japanese for the month of May, and then Mei (pronounced May).

Howl’s Moving Castle Papercraft

A project I’ve been working on for over a year (because life happened), and I can’t believe I’m done! So I’m here to share my accomplishment to everyone interested. Haha!
It was a challenge. Would I do it again? Probably not, it wouldn’t be as exciting as the first time. Haha! I’ll probably move on to another project for now. If you want to see my journey (work-in-progress) and if you want to make one yourself, click the link above.
This papercraft is kind of interactive, which makes it interesting. You can turn the wheels, the turrets, remove the tongue and close the mouth, and pull in/out the eyes.

There's always that somebody that you miss dearly, whether alive or dead. They're always on your mind and you find yourself thinking "would they approve of this/be happy for me etc" They could just be a friend or even a family member but all that matters is that they are a thought in your mind, a flash of reasoning in your day. For me, that person is dead and has been for nearly 7 years. I miss you granny, I always have - thinking of you everyday.
