no one is pretending wwx is innocent, literally most people think he's badass when he tortures WLJ and WC with cruelty. People are just saying he's the hero and a good person, this is different from being non-problematic. Every annoying thing in fandom is not the fault of cql fans. Bold of you to be on tumblr.com and then assume that you yourself are not an equally annoying chunk of your fandom. Cql fans do annoying shit but so does every part of the fandom. For example: novel fans never shut up about being in the fandom in the early days when it "wasnt annoying". My pet peeve in mdzs fanfics is mo xuanyu. Wei wuxian has his face and body so I find it awkward as hell if there is another person WITH the same face and body. We don't even know anything about mo xuanyu character. If you gonna write an entirely imagined characterization of him, isnt it better to just write an OC?

I was randomly recommended a video of SVSSS on youtube. I have never laughed so hard in my life! Shen Yuan is a HUGE mood!! WHY DIDN'T I LOOK THIS UP BEFORE?? I immediately went to read the novel. I'm hooked after a single chapter! I love it so much! I got started with MDZS but I didn't fall in love with it this quickly! (since MDZS is my Special Interest of the Year™ I don't think it's going anywhere though)

Dropping by this page honestly made me really glad I stay in my fandom corner. Gods yall need to calm down and stop being dramatic over every little thing. Also media consumption and the subsequent experience is subjective, problematic elements in fiction are sometimes deliberate and there to carry narrative themes and build tension, if you've read the translation you've not read the actual novel but an interpretation. Keep that in mind.

I think that the reason why JC fans are so up in arms about the core transfer and him not knowing while they never complain about WWX not knowing that JC lead the Wens away even though WWX would never have agreed to that either is bc they recognize that objectively, JC started to treat WWX like shit post Sunshot&time skip, so they are just looking for an excuse for JC's behavior-if JC had know, he would have acted differently. But JC wouldn't have cared about saving WWX and the Wens either way.
