surprise return???!!??!

hello...... it is me..... again.....

im so sorry for impulsively creating a second blog, writing on it for a few weeks before abandoning it ;__; adhd is really something! i like to pretend im a celebrity in the gintama fandom for my gintama fame when i was 15 but i doubt anyone remembers me lol

i’ve consistently liked gintama for years, but i’ve had waxing and waning levels of interest for it, especially writing it.

idk how many people care, but i’ve been writing some gintama fic on my new tumblr and i decided to return to this one to give some life updates

i graduated highschool and i start college soon! one of the reasons i’ve been so busy is because i was finishing my senior year which was hell since i had to do it online. i move out in about a week! im super nervous but i’m really excited.

i’ve done a lot of introspection and i’ve decided to change my name, and i’ve found a gender identity that i’m comfortable with! i’ve chosen the name marle, and my pronouns are they/them. i identify as agender, and i’m a lesbian :)

speaking of new tumblr, i’ve decided to just make a new tumblr to use as a writing dump rather than a request blog! i realized that request based blogs stress me out a whole lot, and i like to do things at my own pace. i write a lot of fanfic as it is, so i don’t have any issues with coming up with ideas.

anyways, my new blog is @cornfarm! i don’t have any gintama works up yet, but i do plan on publishing some, and have a few written in my drafts.

i have much more experience with life, so i think my writing has only gotten better.

again, thank you for the short lived support, and for the people who remembered me, thank you.

The first time that you slept with him was very natural and spur of the moment. It’s not really a big deal for him. He’s not really nervous, I mean he’s had flings with strangers so I doubt he’d be nervous.

If you’re nervous though, he’ll bug you for days about it. He’ll tease you in the moment, and he’ll tease you in the morning. He can’t help himself! He thinks it’s cute, but you can kick him if it gets annoying.

He’s the type that likes to lay down and chat, so even if you’re tired, he might keep you up a bit longer just to talk to you. He doesn’t know how you’d like to cuddle when you sleep so it might be a bit awkward. He doesn’t want to ask because he thinks he’ll look lame, but he doesn’t want you to be uncomfortable.

Kamui

Kamui would be very giddy about the idea of it. He gets to touch you while he’s sleeping?! Sign him up! 

He has absolutely no nerves, but he struggles to fall asleep because he quickly realizes that he can’t move around too much. He’ll express to you his frustration, he feels so restless… What ends up happening is he’ll fall asleep a little separated from you, maybe he’s holding your hand, and then later in the night when he’s deep asleep, he’ll roll over and snuggle into you. 

Ever since he started sleeping with you, he’s been more awake and alert during the days.

Though, his favorite thing to do is to eat a big meal, and just crash into each other's arms.

Okita Sougo

Sleeping with Sougo for the first time would feel very natural. It feels almost routine despite it being the first time! Sougo would probably never consider “sleeping together” to be an exciting event, but winding down for the night had never felt as relaxing. 

When he first climbs into bed with you, his nerves shoot up. He’s wide awake, his hands are sweating, and his heart is pounding so hard that he feels like it’s going to pop out of his chest. His senses are so heightened. He’s flustered, and he doesn’t know how to calm down. He’s never been that intimate with anybody before, so he’s in shock of the intensity of it.

However, he’ll try to play it off cool, and your only real indication of his flusteredness is if you can feel his heart pounding. You definitely can. If you’re nervous, he’ll tease you about it, and that makes him feel a bit more relaxed. 

He’s the big spoon. Generally, he probably wont do anything else but lay there, but if you’ve started dozing off, he’ll stroke your hair.

He wakes up feeling embarrassingly refreshed. His nervousness goes away quite quickly (unfortunately).

Sakata Gintoki

I actually think Gintoki is better at dealing with your panic attacks than most would think. He’s very observant, and he recognizes when you’re beginning to panic. If you start crying, he’ll panic then, trying to ease you to stop crying. He goes to humor first, trying to get you to separate from your emotions. 

If you’re out in public, he’ll do whatever he can to not cause a scene. He’ll pull you somewhere private and quiet, and firmly consol you. It doesn’t matter where you two are though, he’ll still let you cling onto him if you need it. 

He feels really pained watching you. He knows what it’s like to feel like that, and although he’ll never admit it, he hates having to watch you suffer. It makes him very angry, and once you’ve calmed down, he’ll excuse himself to go cool down.

Hijikata Toshiro

Hijikata is the worst, he’s not good with all the emotional stuff. He freaks out if you start crying, so if you’re having a full blown panic attack, he’s on alert. He’d be kinda aggressive with you, grabbing your shoulders so you look at him properly. He’ll raise his voice on accident, and when he sees you shrink away even further, his heart breaks. 

He’ll be desperate for you to tell him what to do, but if you can muster the strength to request anything from him, he’ll do it with immense intensity and efficiency. Hijikata’s next move is to hold you as tightly as he can. 

It would be best to have a long discussion with him about what he should do because he will feel quite lost.

Okita Sougo

Sougo wouldn’t catch on right away that you were actually having a panic attack until it was too late. Even if he didn’t cause it, he’d still mock you as you’re breaking down. He’d play his sadistic game with you, prodding and poking at you, saying “ah, [y/n]-chan, crying isn’t gonna make me pity you”. When you ignore him, and don’t give him the response he wants, it hits him that “oh shit, this is serious.” 

I seriously think he’d double down and start apologizing. We’ve seen how he is around Mitsuba, and I think he’d simulate that behavior with you as well. He wouldn’t know what to do, hovering over you. He’d gently put a hand on your back and try to talk to you. To him, it's less about what’s wrong, and more about how to get you to calm down.

He’s surprisingly good at grounding you. He doesn’t panic like Hijikata does, and he’s good at keeping his cool. He’ll probably feel kinda bummed the rest of the day/night, and he’ll only go back to regular mean Sougo if you clue him in.

Can I ask for HCs for Hijikata and Okita falling for someone from the Yorozuya (older that Shinpachi but younger than Gin) that has the same tendency to get into trouble?

As soon as I got this, I could picture it in my head lol--

Hijikata Toshirou

As soon as you started hanging around the Yorozuya, he was kinda interested in you. You didn’t really seem like the type to get involved with them, but as he began spending more time around you, he realized that you definitely fit in. Whenever some big event happened, or he caught wind of suspicious behavior, he wasn’t surprised to see your face. He’d be fairly annoyed at the prospect of seeing you doing crazy stunts, or weird jobs, but it slowly grew into fondness. 

The relationship would start out very playful and very climactic! You’d run into each other in very high action scenes, which was obviously very intense for both of you. When you’d run into each other alone, he’d sigh, preparing himself for the worse. Surprisingly, your conversations are really nice and fresh. Definitely a refresher, but you’d quickly find yourself in trouble again, and slip away as if you were never there.

Hijikata and you running into each other becomes routine, and when all of a sudden he stops seeing you, he has an intense moment of clarity. Was he… was he hoping to see you all along? He definitely bashes his head on a streetlamp. If you wind up not seeing him for a while, he’ll go to the Yorozuya himself to check up on you. He’ll claim he’s there because of a noise complaint, but that’s obviously a lie. 

Please approach him again, he misses you. 

Okita Sougo

Your relationship would start out on a similar note: He’d run into you during your jobs a lot, and although he was very mean and teasing, you slowly became friends. He’d start banter with you, and even physically fight with you if he thinks you have it in you. 

If he ever saw Yorozuya without you, he’d make a comment like “where’s the other one?”. They’d respond with something like “oh, they’re off doing a separate job”. Not even 5 minutes later, you come rushing down the street, swarms of angry men chasing after you. 

Sougo would definitely slip out a “wow, I thought you had brains, guess I was wrong!” or something. You can hit him. Regardless of if you’re bashful from his mockery, or spitting right back at him, he’ll use up his free time at work to keep an eye out for you. He’s definitely prevented seriously dangerous things from happening to you, but he does it so discreetly that you’d never even know he’s there.

He’d rather mitigate the possibility of actual danger, but he’ll happily sit back from a scene and watch you screw around. 

He doesn’t even realize he likes you per se, rather he just feels fondness towards your person (he likes you very much he’s just dumb).

Sakata Gintoki

Even though he keeps to himself, he’d always be very warm to you. He’d play with you, and he’d explore with you. Shoyou would always make remarks about the way he opened up around you. If you were shy, he’d naturally help you ease up to things and people, despite not being very good at it himself. The two of you were this inseparable pair. Even as he was a bit older and became more… teenage boy… he’d still always stick with you with kindness. When somebody hurts in the same way as somebody else, it’s easier to make tighter bonds. You were somebody in his life that he knew wouldn’t abandon him, and he was the same way for you. 

During the war, Gintoki would urge you to stay out of the war. He wants to take all of the responsibility onto himself, and neglect you from any of it. He’ll even go as far to use the excuse “you’re a girl” and more to keep you away from the frontlines. Even if you’ve proven yourself more than capable of fighting and protecting yourself, he’ll still urge you to stay out of it. If you’re headstrong and want to join the war, there will be arguments. Inevitably, if you choose to go to war, he’ll keep an eye on you at all times. 

I think it’s hard to say how the relationship would be after the war. It really depends on you, and your personality. If you’re headstrong and stubborn, cracking Gintoki open will be easier, but if you don’t like confrontation and you’re shyer, then be prepared for problems to come. Gintoki is heartbroken and defeated over the war, and he will reject you from getting close to him. Ironically, if you stayed out of the war, it might be difficult to thread bonds between you again. There’s a level of separation that comes with exempting yourself from an event that tragic. Of course though, it’s not impossible, it’s just not easy. If you served in the war, there’s a better understanding of his suffering, since you’ll be able to directly relate to it. Either way, he’ll push you away for his own, selfish reasons, and it’ll be hard to recoup the relationship.

In the future (present time Gintama), your closeness will be judged on what happened during the postwar era of suffering. If you had rekindled the relationship, Gintoki would’ve definitely taken you under his wing as you sought out a new life together. If you didn’t, then it’s a whole different story. It’ll be hard for him to ever approach you because he’d feel as if he abandoned you, and deeply regrets it. He betrayed you by pushing you away. If you ever choose to return and see him again, he’ll hesitantly open his arms. He’s healed most of his wounds, and you’ve healed most of yours, so it’s possible to start from where you left off. Your relationship then would be very childish and playful, probably stemming from your youth. 

If you’re absent from his present life, he won't ever bring you up with the Yorozuya, but when your presence is unveiled, everybody sees a new side of Gintoki. He might be a total ass to you, but he’s really too ashamed to let you get close. He might pull a Hijikata and just observe you from afar. It’ll take the entire cast to get him to actually talk to you properly

It’s likely you two wouldn’t live together, even if you were close after the war, but he’d definitely visit quite often, and you’ll stop by when you have time.
