I’m so frustrated. I can’t afford my student loan payments and all of my bills. But anytime I try to apply for income driven, it says I can’t because I had to consolidate my loans a few years ago to a private loan company. The company itself only had a plan that increases by 20% every couple of years.
This is ridiculous. I shouldn’t have not be able to have non essential things in my life because of a fucking student loan.
I am in tears. Usually this isn’t too much of a problem. I can normally pay everything and still have some left over. However I had to drop $1500 to fix ONE of my teeth. I don’t know the in and outs of the dentist industry, but it just seems like such a rip off. No wonder people have terrible teeth when it’s way too expensive to even just take care of them like you should.
I’m not going to pretend that I’ve really ever not been able to afford 75% of things I want so I don’t want to seem ungrateful. It’s just irritating that we’re told we need to go to college and get a degree, but aren’t given a manageable way to pay for it. NO ONE should have to be in debt the rest of their life because they were goaded into getting a college education. Many of us might have chosen different careers or paths if we were properly informed of the other options.
