nah I lowkey tried to excuse colonial era homophobia with the excuse of survivalism and only said it wasn't okay bc were in the future where it's not important to "survive" anymore, like old turtle island was a fallout wasteland with only 7 humans. I understand not wanting to die completely, but homophobic laws and brutality had absolutely nothing to do with survival.
I can see here that this must have been me when I believed that being gay was a choice so I framed it as an inoffensive action, and I also didn't take into account the people who aren't closeted or want to live normally. But beyond that and a few stuff I don't know how to unpack I agree with my point that homophobic laws are stupid since they are. All bigoted laws are stupid

Like, the targeting is unbelievable. Literally unbelievable. I legit have trouble believing some of our anti-lgbt laws exist, because who would waste so much time writing these laws and prohibitions that can be easily bypassed by a lie? I’m specifically referring to the prohibition laws like “you can’t come here if you’re gay” or “you can’t buy this if you’re gay”
Like what?! How do you even prove that? Are enforcers equipped with flower-level scouters to measure gayness? Do people take straightness tests? “Duh if you can’t not bend this spoon with psychokinesis I’m afraid I’ll have to diagnose with inceptive gay”
My point is, why did our government waste time on these stupid and pointless laws
Gay marriage, for example, was illegal because US used to be very religious, and animalistic (survival of our kind), which is understandable since when you’re about to die you’ve gotta succumb to your logical inner Bigfoot and reproduce for the colony. Now, we don’t have to act like a hive mind anymore since we’ve got enough humans, and America herself has become atheistic. So why was the ban on gay marriage still there? Lol I don’t know let’s remove it BUT WAIT, people still protest! And I’m not talking about just religious people who believe it’s morally wrong and all that, I’m talking about atheists! But why? What’s the point of keeping these ridiculously spiteful laws? Lgbt aren’t an ethnicity or a religion, so one can literally just say “no homo” and get pass! Why are we barring gays from the country? I can see if we were barring both sexualities, but no we gotta target gays more?! What?! lol
