Nothing about Steve in season 4 is badly written. Steve has had the best personal growth story in the whole show and whether you like it or not it all started with Nancy.
Steve wanting kids is not out of character since he has become the designated babysitter and protector of the group. He is always the first one to go into the danger and the last one out of it. He also mentions his parents are never there and he’s alone a lot. It makes sense an only child would want a big family.
Steve still loving Nancy may not have been in the original plans for the show but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense and is bad writing. Steve telling Robin he didn’t love Nancy could have easily been a lie or could have just been Steve being in denial. Steve kept denying his feelings for Nancy in the beginning of season 4 when Dustin called out his feelings so it is easily explained and still makes sense.
Steve realized he was an asshole and wanted to change because he was inspired by Nancy to be a better person. He told his friends “she’s not an asshole she actually cares about people.” He dumped his asshole friends because of this and made real friends in Dustin and Robin who helped him become selfless and less superficial. None of which would have happened if Nancy didn’t inspire him and Steve thanking her for giving him a thump on the head shows how much more mature he is now than he was in season 1.
It’s not character regression to still be in love with the person that turned your life around. It wouldn’t be regression if Nancy loves him back because it would have never happened in the first place without all the character growth Steve has gone through.
"tyler never felt anything for wednesday" THE FUCKING POP CORN BOXES WERE BLACK AND WHITEEEEEE he thought of every little detail for her on that date and it shows
there's something about how this scene is taken. after finishing the series, we know that tyler is actually looking at his mother in the photo (pic 1). and we know that he/the hyde is motivated by revenge for his mother. in pic 1, we can see his mother clearly and tyler's eyes are focused on her.
but then, wednesday shows up behind him (pic 2), and the photo is out of focus immediately. tyler also looks up at wednesday instantly. then wednesday becomes the focus.
look, all i'm saying is. there's just something about how tyler's original intention (revenge) becomes out of focus as soon as wednesday enters his personal space.
