This hurt me in the most beautiful way and I love it.

Just did my recap of 1x16 and it had me thinking, Ace has been taking care of Nancy from the beginning, making sure that she’s ok, that’s she’s safe in some regard - or as safe as she can be in the life that she leads (but he still admires her for proceeding through her chosen endeavors). But now as we head into season four, it’s Nancy’s turn - it’s her turn to make sure that he’s safe - however deeply sad and tragic the reason, she’s making a choice to ensure he’s ok - and what a wonderful turn in their relationship - to show both parties caring so deeply for the other, and just want that other person to be ok, to be safe. It’s so simple and so pure - such a authentic and unblemished pursuit in life - to make sure your partner is safe and cared for - and not in some way that insinuates they couldn’t take care of themselves, but just in the way that you are forever in their corner, ensuring their well-being, their security - protecting them - always.
