for the love of god, montresor!
ok so ive had little luck with downloading my tumblr data (which was perhaps to be expected because it contains almost 9 years of blogging and is gigantic), and i dont want to just have that all disappear.
so instead of deleting my blog im just going to lock it away like poor fortunato in the cask of amontillado - im gonna change the password to something i dont know, but keep everything up as an archive. (and who knows, maybe if i feel like coming back in 50 years, itll all still be there for me. because of course tumblr will still exist in the post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland, its the cockroach of websites.)
have a lovely new year!

for those who would like to support Palestinian olive farmers, equal exchange has Palestine-sourced olive oil! they're an amazing worker owned co-op that works closely with local farmers to support sustainability and pay fair wages.
i frankly cannot afford it, but i know some folks can and would like to get some. it comes in packs of 6 bottles, so if you can get 6 friends together, each person can pay for one bottle!
they also have some of the most delicious coffee and hot cocoa mixes that i've ever gotten, and the same approach applies. given how horrific farming and labor practices are in both of those industries, i highly recommend supporting them and getting some amazing products in return if you can afford it.

telling you kids. look at obscure art and take inspiration from there. Look at things that aren’t drawings and work them into your technique. Look at the way light plays over the surface of the face, really look at it, and then don’t look for instructions on how to capture it. Stop drawing from whatever is most popular and fed to you from algorithms. Get weird. Find your voice!!! See all that you love in your work and know that it is yours!!!!
