Selfshippers with chronic fatigue, please don't feel bad. Your f/o accepts you as you are. They accept that you might not have enough energy to accomplish very much. They're very sympathetic to your plights. If you're tired when you spend time together, they don't really care if you can't do very much because they're just happy to be in your presence. If you want to just take a nap, they'll be happy to just cuddle up with you. They feel very sorry for you, but they also believe in you to do what you need.

I am too young, but too old to be explaining this to people, but the burden of someone’s triggers is on them. They can ask for you to tag things, but that is an ASK and that should not come above other people’s comfort.

Boundaries are for when one knows when to walk away. Not to control people’s behavior; one may ask and someone may indulge, but it should never be used as a mean of control. If one is using it as a means to control, please seek a professional for guidance away from that behavior, to educate one’s self on how to properly have boundaries; if someone is using it as a means of control towards you/a loved one, please speak to them about it and disengage if it continues to be a problem.

There is a reason why movie ratings have ratings and don’t call out people’s names. Not only is it not feasible, it is also unsafe. You/anyone should not be putting their names next to their triggers for strangers to see. At that point, people could easily use those triggers against you/the person with that trigger. There are malicious people out there and it isn’t safe to have anything that will trigger you directly attached to you.

I have this as well; I have a trigger of specific characters due to things I will not speak about publicly. Why? Safety. I reach out to my friends and I may put out a thing asking for people just to tag that character with that character name or ‘TW: [character name]’ or even just the name of the ship so I can avoid it, but I will never actually attach why it is a trigger to me unless we are relatively friends/acquaintances, because it is on me to keep me safe.

‘x don’t look’ has always made people in this community uncomfortable for numerous reasons. It makes OPs uncomfortable because it puts them on the spot, it attaches triggers to people’s names, it directly calls out the person with the trigger, etc. Please stop using it.

This is not just a comfort thing; this is a safety thing; this is also how boundaries are properly placed.

Hurm, hurm, blog thoughts... Probably gonna get a little personal, but I keep idly spinning my wheels on what I'm doing with this blog.

Like. There's the Tumblr Scare to consider. Still thinking I'll likely move my fics to Ao3, since I don't want to lose them, and I'd almost rather bet on their longevity compared to Tumblr's rn. (Especially under current ownership; maybe...just maybe....someone else should take the reign. I would love to believe staff is as kindly as ex-staff say they are, but everything abt what happened prior still keeps me nervous.)

But there's also IRL stuff going on in my personal life that's... Hmm.

As mentioned before, continuing to look into OSDD as a possible diagnosis for what I've been going through almost all of my life. I thought it was quite normal- based on where and how I entered Fandom- to have characters in your head that spoke to you. They lived your life with you, offering commentary, and etc. Funnily enough, it was only "studying" fickin that I realized there was something else going on there....and that also led to alterhumanity (and geez, did that explain twenty more things-) and THAT is what led to plurality.

...Which has also been a journey and a half, considering my therapist can only do so much. I did the MID, it's just talking about this through parts language and...basically awaiting an appointment- in some future time- to get answers. (I want them, but am unsure if I want an on-paper diagnosis... Suppose we'll see if it means the difference between obtaining specific therapy for this.)

And THAT'S only relevant cause some F/Os are also fictives. Or were F/Os that became introjects, due to the comfort they gave me. (I will not specify who, for personal reasons. If you're curious, I may be willing to entrust my system blog to those who inquire for it.)

OH, and I made it into an apartment!!! That's so incredibly new to me. Nice, but trying to catch this space up with what's needed is...tricky.

Boyf and I have a lot of stuff- put together- and so trying to mentally assemble where shelves will go to bring it all together... Y'know? (But I'm excited to put some lowkey shrines together for certain faves.)

...Other misc. stuff I can't remember now. Reworking my self-inserts on the [quiet] side. Uhhhh, vtubing ideas. More lore for said SIs and ships, and also messing around with certain ideas that could streamline some of my Thoughts?? (We'll see on this. I'm hemming and hawing over it, since idk if this is From Me or outside influences again... Yes, I'm being vague!! I'm allowed.)

Anyways, that's my little update!! I've got drabbles I can post again, at some point, but... Real goal is to eventually post stories again. Esp so I can streamline the commission process, going forward.

(this didn't happen to me recently but someone I know in a self-ship Discord server I'm in so I'm making a post on this because it needs to be said AGAIN.) - (long rant incoming, tw for mention of s*****e)

Hey, self-shippers- yes, ALL OF YOU, because we ALL need to crack down on this and do better- there's probably quite a few of us, if not a lot of us, that don't like sharing some of our F/O's, and that's okay.

However, what's NOT FUCKING OKAY is GOING INTO THE INBOX OR DM'S OF A USER WHO SHARES AN F/O WITH YOU THAT YOU'RE NOT COMFORTABLE SHARING AND CALLING THEM NAMES/SLURS, TELLING THEM THEY'LL NEVER LOVE THAT PERSON, AND/OR THEN SAYING THEY SHOULD ACTUALLY KILL THEMSELVES. What in the actual FUCK is wrong with you? I don't care if you're a minor or an adult in the community, that shit is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable.

We as a whole need to do better about cracking down on this kind of behavior, for real. Self-shipping is a place where people should be able to feel welcome and able to ship themselves with characters they love without having to feel like they have to walk on eggshells just so they don't incur the wrath of others who think it's okay to treat others like this. This shouldn't be what people imagine when they think of self-shippers, but a few bad apples will bring our image down and make it to where no one wants to even joke about interacting with us.

To those self-shippers who are not okay or comfortable sharing your F/O's in whatever way- if you come across someone who shares one of those characters with you, instead of pulling shit like that (especially on anon, you spineless cowards), either just block the person without saying anything if you don't interact or have never interacted with them, or if it's someone you know/are on good terms with, kindly inform them not to talk about that F/O in personal interactions or have them tag posts with a certain tag so you can block that tag and hide them from your view so you don't have to see them. There's ways around everything here that avoids being an asshole to people and they're not that difficult to do.

I want to be proud to be part of this community as someone who's in it, not ashamed of it because of instances like this; even if they don't happen very often, they still happen, and they shouldn't. We can do better, we can be better.
