The parallels and differences between the slime isekai and the spider isekai are pretty interesting. Both protagonists are reincarnated as a level 1 basic mob in a cave, but their circumstances and personalities make the stories take wildly different directions.

Rimuru the slime quickly befriends a bunch of goblins and starts building a community that slowly becomes a nation. They become respected and very powerful in what feels like a very short time. The nation keeps gaining powerful allies and most of the show focuses on the growth of its political power.

Kumoko, as a spider, lacks any ability to communicate with humans (and is just surrounded by predators most of the time anyway). She does not gain any allies until she evolves into a half-human form, by which point she has become so battle-hardened from the constant struggle to survive that she's lost whatever common sense and conscience she may have had, and you can't even blame her. Even when she does make some tentative friends, her anxiety disorder combined with her various traumas and misanthropic tendencies mean she can't really relate to normal humans at all anymore, let alone communicate with them, and she generally relies on a friend to speak for her.
