Do we have a timeline of when Porter was turned? Cause I’ve always seen him as a young man who immigrated to the uk when they were in need of workers and he was turned after spending a long time working in the factories because his maker wanted a large number of progeny and who better than the people the British wouldn’t care to miss? like no one would miss him because everyone who loved him is back Pakistan thinking he is building a new life and who would investigate his death? the British? he was just a face less labour only around to ease the lives of those above him and maybe he never got out of that loop no matter what turn his life took

It’s a remarkable feat how a heart can yearn for something the mind feels wholly unworthy of. In the case of Porter Solaire, it comes in the form of an unempowered human.

This scene is one he’s grown familiar with. Kisses exchanged with Treasure growing passionate while the two of them sit on the edge of Treasure’s bed, their hand in his hair pulling tighter just the way he likes, his hand on the side of their neck, all complimented by the soft glow of the moon just outside their window.

His nightly trysts with them have become something Porter has grown accustomed to. Each time he finds himself back at their doorstep, each time he knocks on their door and they answer, the allure of them draws him in further despite all protests from the rational part of his mind.

Softness is a concept he has no use for—nothing more than something to be tucked deeply into the recesses of his mind so he can make space for other, more useful notions. The moment he grows complacent is when things start to fall apart.

But if you pretend to stand so high above the rest, who would dare to drag you down?

Porter has been aware of the game even before he accepted the Solaire name. He knows the rules better than the back of his hand—a moment of hesitation could spell his downfall.

And if one thing is for sure, it’s that Porter Solaire never hesitates.

He has grown to know the network of secrets and intrigue in Dahlia. He knows the whispers of doubt that plague every second of silence. And blood. Crimson red blood that both sustains him and stains his hands. Each drop he has spilled carries the weight of the choices he has made under his king. And no matter how hard Porter scrubs, repents, pleads, he can never seem to wash it off.

There is a familiar comfort in the cold sins he can never erase.

But beyond the realm of shadows and blood, Porter has become acquainted with something more intimate. In the quiet moments, he recalls the feeling of the tender touch of their skin, the taste of their blood lingering on his tongue, and the heat of their body pressed against his.

Treasure pulls back to cradle his face, and even this he has grown to know. Everything about them is comfort and warmth and softness and Porter hates it. Brutality was not meant to be mellowed through kindness.

Yet here he is. Drawn to them over and over again like a moth to a flame. Like a vice he can't let go of. Maybe he never wants to let go.

Complacency will get you hurt, Solaire. Get it together.

Treasure has become... a problem, to say the least. A welcome one, but a problem nonetheless.

Porter’s hands trail down and grip Treasure’s side, but they flinch away from his touch.

“Sorry,” they say hastily before Porter can ask if he hurt them. “Don’t mind me. Just...” they trail off, averting their gaze. “Dealing with a bruise.”

Porter recalls a text he received from Treasure the night before. They had told him that they and a couple of friends of theirs were off to a nearby bar that evening, and he had his suspicions that the bruise they’re currently nursing was gained from that very night.

His voice is low when he asks, “Who was it?”

They pause for a moment before continuing, “It’s really nothing, Porter. You don’t have to waste your magic on me.”

“You’re hurt, Treasure. That certainly isn’t nothing,” Porter softens at their dismissal. They shouldn’t have to hurt; not when he can do something about it. “I assure you, me using my magic to help you is not a waste.”

Their gaze meets his, and Porter wants nothing more than to use his healing magic to caress their skin until every trace of hurt is kissed away from their eyes.

After a beat, they finally relent, “Alright. If you’re sure”

Porter nods, “May I see it, then? I’ll be gentle.”

Slowly, Treasure disrobes to reveal their injury. It’s not the first time Porter’s seen them disrobe, but there’s a certain vulnerability that hangs in the air. That’s when he sees the bruise on their side. It blooms from just below their ribs to their hip; just where he had held them mere moments ago.

The memory of a sleepless night spent in this very bed makes its way to the forefront of Porter's thoughts. They felt safe enough to be held by him, had even asked him to hold them tighter without hesitation. This type of trust is all new to him.

He’s not quite sure how to handle it.

Porter looks up at Treasure, “Who did this to you?”

They're quiet for a moment, gathering their thoughts before speaking, “It was some guy at the club. He kept harassing me even after I told him I wasn’t interested. A friend of mine saw what was going on and told him to back off, but then the guy shoved me into a table and punched my friend in the face.”

Porter scoffs, mumbling under his breath, “Good to know that those friends of yours can actually be half-decent people when the time calls for it.”

“Porter.”

“Apologies, that was”—he huffs, not sounding entirely apologetic—“unbecoming of me”

Treasure looks at him amused, though he’s not entirely sure if it’s from his half-hearted apology or his tone. They avert their gaze and resort to tracing shapes on his thigh, “Don’t pout. They’re good people when you get to know them.”

“I am not pouting,” Porter denies. “I don’t pout.”

They smile at his response, and Porter swears right then and there that he would do everything in his power to protect their smile.

He’d do absolutely anything to make them happy. And that thought absolutely terrified him.

“We should probably get started on mending up that bruise of yours,” he suggests before he can dwell on his thoughts for too long.

Porter hasn’t gotten many chances to practice his healing magic. After all, the common course of action for vampires is to simply let your body mend itself over time.

Healing magic can be downright painful if done by a novice. His skills in healing are rudimentary at best, but he was confident enough to know that he wouldn’t hurt them. But it wouldn't hurt to give them a heads-up.

“Tell me if you feel any sort of discomfort, alright?” Porter said. “We can stop at any time.”

Treasure gives a small nod.

And with that, he pulls on his threads, letting his powers flow from his fingertips to the bruise on Treasure’s skin. He starts off slowly at first, half-expecting them to tense up the moment his magic touches them.

A soft sigh from Treasure, and Porter takes that as his signal to continue. The bruise mends itself underneath their skin until no trace of it remains.

He watches their hand prod at the once-wounded skin. A pause. And it’s here, when they look at him with such awe and gratitude, that Porter doesn’t quite know what to do next.

He doesn’t want to break this sacred stillness.

”Good as new,” they mumble. “You're amazing, Porter. Thank you.”

For the first time, Porter is unsure of what to say next.

So he responds as he always does. With a kiss to their soft lips.

Too gentle for him.

Too sweet for him.

my personal vincent solaire headcanons because i've been thinking about him alot lately.

these range from funny and goofy to kind of sad.

potential spoilers for right up until lovely's turning, i haven't gotten beyond that.

i tried so hard to make this post look good but tbh don't nobody gaf, so it's mad basic!

over the years, william has tried to teach vincent french but none of it's really stuck. he can read a bit, but decided he sounds funny when speaking it, so, he's given up.

if lovely came from a background where they've struggled with money, vincent has a hard time relating to them in some aspects. he's always willing to lend a sympathetic ear, though.

vincent's got pointed ears (my personal hc is that all the vampires do, to varying degrees) it's a fantastic opportunity for piercings, which vincent has taken.

if vincent if ever confused about something his eyes get really wide, and it's obvious he has no idea what's going on.

vincent vapes but is totally one of those who'd be like "a cigarette?? ewww!! i would neverrrrrr" while he's huffing on a green apple nic stick.

^ to add to this, if he loses it he totally freaks out ("lovely where's my vappeee??")

vincent is the kind of guy who calls cars "sexy"

since he doesn't have to eat to survive, vincent's developed a taste for expensive food, particularly exotic fruit.

he's got an impressive record of speeding tickets, and has used his powers to get out of them more than once

vincent misses his mortal family deeply, particularly, he really wants his mother to be there sometimes.

on the rare occasion a new vampire joins the house of solaire, vincent goes out of his way to be friendly to them.

whenever he's out, vincent tips really well.

if you look around vincent's hometown, particularly in those spots that collect a lot of trash, you'll find some of those 'do you know what happened to me?' posters for vincent, as they didn't find a body.

sometimes, vincent can't help but think he's the worst thing to happen to lovely, especially after adam, the inversion, and their turning.

I DESPERATELY NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS, NEPTUNE!

I feel like fooliverse!baroness would be such an overthinker about the marriage and generally doesn't accept the stuff that marriage implies, such as the fact that they, as a woman, have to have their last name changed to match their husband's, almost as if becoming just an appendage for him. she immediately and incessantly probes fooliverse!rhett and his listener as to why she was chosen when her views on marriage are so clear to everyone.

she would also be a lot more outgoing and willing to joke with everyone, although is still quite reserved (but not as much as her canonical counterpart). she's much more of an ambivert rather than an introvert like the canonical baroness.

her and baron castin would first spend time by playing cards together (just like when they were trying to get to know each other with the ancient dating game). i also feel like she would be so much more reckless and get scraped up from the battle field quite often, which is why fooliverse!castin is always there with a small first aid kit and a small cookie with him as a reward for her bravery !!

and maybe fooliverse!baroness would even get purposefully hurt so that baron castin can take care of her <33

"tol" is like the equivalent of "dude" as in a way of calling your friend

lovely & darlin would probably call vincent & sam their asawang (gets niyo ba asawa + aswang)

asawa means spouse or wife or husband

aswang is a ph mythological creature. different sources tell different things but what is mostly agreed upon is that (1) they're nocturnal (2) they usually pretend to be humans in the day time if not (3) they hide in the woods (4) they prey on children, pregnant women (specifically for their unborn child), and maybe new borns. they often get lumped with vampires though i'm not too sure how accurate that is.

aspins have a very special place in darlin's heart. sam's cabin in the woods usually have attract lots of them and they never had the heart to turn them away. in a way too, they know what it's like to being wild, dirty, street dog.

aspin - a dog breed in the ph that is sort of a mix of other breeds. they often get a bad rep for being street dogs and not having a particular breed.

vincent n his cars get featured a lot in those carspotting around manila tiktoks. whenever lovely finds em they make sure to send those to vincent lol

(this is me also hoping that vincent gets to keep at least few of them when they leave the house of solaire)

not entirely sure how the entire mate thing would translate into ph culture but even with all that david & asher would insist on doing things properly before marriage - they would mamanhikan to their partner's parents respectively hehehe

mamanhikan or pamamanhikan is a like a traditional practice of going to the fiancee's family's house and asking for their hand in marriage lol.

whenever they drive down shaw boulevard, the pack would turn to david and go "taga dito ka di ba?" or something to that effect HAHAHAHHA

"taga-dito ka 'di ba?" = "you're from (around) here, right?"

angel know it's general cleaning morning whenever david is blasting opm songs or old timey songs around their house.
