Let's talk about Twice and Hawks's interaction in the last chapter of the manga.

At first glance, after seeing how Hawks has been acting and all, we all would've thought that he never made an actual bond with Twice.

But in reality, after meeting him and getting to know "each other" better, he feels bad about doing all of this to him and he wants to actually help him to start over

On the other hand, after experiencing different kind of betrayals and trauma, Twice feels like he was just a pawn, just a little toy in this big game, because he trusted Hawks and thought of him as a friend

And now, in the final battle, we have a rather conflicted Hawks and a pained Twice. Even though they don't want to actually fight each other, they still have to, because they are supposed to be enemies, they are supposed to be hero and villain, nothing else.
