Updates

I started this blog when I was an undergraduate getting my psychology B.S. and loved the motivation and inspiration it gave me, despite not being very active and mostly just reposting. 

It’s been a little over a year and a half since I graduated and have been mostly inactive, however, I'm coming to a close with to finishing my journey into getting into a phd program and wanted to restart! I would love to document my progress from mostly the beginning this time and hope any of you followers or those browsing the tags are interested as well! 

So that’s why I'm rebranding a little and bringing this back. 

I also would love to help anyone who currently in the process of looking into phd schools for neuroscience / currently in undergraduate and thinking about it as a possibility for the future! 

Current details about me: 

As mentioned, I graduated with a Psychology B.S. at a public state university with an B average GPA.

Did undergraduate and post-bach research in a social neuroscience lab. 

Currently 24 years old. 

Took 2 gap years post undergraduate. 

Worked for awhile as a medical scribe after graduating. 

Went straight from undergraduate to applying to PhD programs without a masters. 

Did NOT take the GRE! (A lot of bio and neuroscience phd programs are currently abolishing GRE requirements and I did a lot of research about that - I also have a list of programs that do not require them if anyone is interested)

Applied to 8 programs; so far have heard back from 3 - I have interviews at two schools and got rejected from one.

I visited the cutest journal & stationary shop in D.C. and I bought a few washi tapes, Muji pens, and a pastel blue Leuchtturm…There was even a bullet journal on display! The color coordination alone had me shook ♡

Day 11 (10/9): Favorite subject

My favorite subject is anatomy!  I love learning about all the different components that go into making the body function as we know it.  A follow-up favorite subject is physiology since it is basically the study of the function of these anatomical components.
