EPQ Research - Quasars & Synchotron Radiation Notes

I‘m popping back again to share yesterday and today’s notes for my EPQ research — I’m almost finished with the dissertation, and finding these topics so interesting, which is awesome! Sorry for the dodgy quality, my lighting wasn’t great :/

My quantum mechanics prof’s slides only contain a summary of what we have to know. The book we have to study is in English (not my first language) so here I am first translating subjects from the book and then making my own summary, is this what I’m supposed to do?? Idk but it’s the best plan I’ve got.

The new academic year has started and I’m honestly a little stressed already. The classes I failed last year, I’ll have to redo this year, along with new ones. My schedule’s gonna be packed and I’m not done with all the administration yet, but it feels good to be back on campus. I hope it’ll last long... I also started using my bujo again, which is something I’d like to keep up. I’ll try to do everything better this year.

hello, i'd quite like to make more friends here, so. 👉👈 here's an introduction to me.

my name's henry, and im currently doing a bachelor in bioengineering at the university of louvain-la-neuve, in belgium!

after that, i intend to go on studying marine biology and cosmology, and the start a new bachelor in classics. those plans may change, i just like planning because then life can but surprise me! ngl, as long as im happy doing what i do, what i actually do doesn't matter much.

here's a quick list of my interests:

• reading (a bit of everything)

• activism (feminism, ecology, politics)

• space!!

• musicals

• marine biology

• antique history and mythologies

• star trek because i am, after all, a respectful homosexual

im also quite fond of languages, and i can manage in english, french, italian and dutch!

anyway, i suppose that's about it? i'd love to start being more active this school year and start posting my things! feel free to dm me or whatever, i dearly adore meeting new people and im basically interested in everything oops.

there are very few things more satisfying than going back to the material you struggled over at the beginning of the term to study for finals and finding it so incredibly easy due to how much you’ve learnt and grown since then

31st July - What do you like most about the beach?

The nice smell of the ocean, the feeling of sand on my feet, the sounds that the waves make when they hit the shore, the sunrises and sunshines…

1st August - What is your least favourite thing about the beach?

Loud people, getting sunburned, people leaving their trash there (Why can’t they just pick it up?!?) and when the nice sand becomes something awful and refuses to leave your side (somehow, it gets everywhere)

Okay so I failed 3 out of 5 exams, just like last semester, BUT this time my scores were better overall so there was definitely progress. I’m happy with how much I’ve improved, even if it isn’t clear from the amount of exams I passed. I’m already studying again as I have to redo a total of 6 exams during August and September, which sounds scary, but I’m motivated and I’m gonna do my best again. I have a feeling I can end my first year on a good note.
