Home in Georgia for only ten days and decorating my living room and dining room has been therapy for me. Ira used to love turquoise blue and I loved red, so I decided to pull the seating together in both colors, by adding an area rug that has those exact colors in it. The sofa is a Queen Anne and the side tables and french figurine lamps are antiques passed down to us by my Mother-in-Law, Frances Goldberg and so is the lovely China hutch. I honored my late husband by re-upholstering the Queen Anne sofa in a soft turquoise blue. I hope to fine a slender, brass framed glass topped table and place a floral arrangement on it to lend interest behind the sofa. I did not have to spend a fortune decorating. I had most of what I needed and just added a few items into the mix. I plan to add a few paintings in the living room area and in the dining room over the buffet table and finally some nice drapes in both rooms to finish the look. My Sister helped find the beautiful chairs and sofa, the buffet and helped set up the crystal pieces and living room accessories. My cousin Jessie Reyes Storey lent her amazing expertise on the layout and design. I am also, re-upholstering the two antique chairs on the right side of the dining room myself, in gold brocade fabric to brighten things up. My Late husband would have veen so proud of what we did with the house. https://www.instagram.com/p/CE0S6J4FsJk/?igshid=1ls1x5kmn3iht

After months of non-stop packing, purging and preparation for a move (thanks to Hichena Raphael, Ayush Prasad, Eric Almeida, Cousin Jessie Reyes Storey and my Sister Elsa Amoros-Rozboril) and efficiently executing it and setting up the house in Georgia to some level of normalcy, I decided to stay in my PJs and horribly unmatched animal print slippers and rest during the labor day holiday. I would have been here in Vestal or in Massachusetts with Ira anyway, had he been here. He is not here, so I sit here quietly contemplating on the beauty that once was and I tell him Thank you, I Love you and I miss you, Ira Allen. https://www.instagram.com/p/CE0SE-tlu6_/?igshid=9xu443vo3ola

After spending a month with my Sister, I am beginning to feel more like myself again. Pandemic or no pandemic, in order for healing of the mind, heart, and body to manifest, we all need family and the human connection. Thank you G-d for giving us to each other. I took a quiet walk on my sister's property and its surroundings while enjoying the orangy green color palette of this beautiful country side, while meditating, composing and arranging songs in my head and sorting myself out. This place provides a blank mental canvass on which one can envision perhaps painting a bright future, if there might be one for me. One of my Sister's canines, Rio, loves following me around. Keeping watch iver me on the steps. https://www.instagram.com/p/CCSAfzuFfyG/?igshid=k02m0jqno7em

Got caught off my guard by nephew Caleb who photo graphed me with no makeup , mismatched tee shirt and sleeping trunks, then in my bathing suit. He is only 19, but got some good shots. https://www.instagram.com/p/CCNfKuwlMmG/?igshid=1h3t3y9qv46ij

After visiting my husband's grave yesterday, I came to the realization that we had created all of the great memories that we did. We had reached as many of milestones and goals that two people who love each other could possibly reach, while sharing a love that surpasses even human understanding. As I was lying there on his grave on a blanket, with my eyes closed, I realized that both Ira and I had reached giving all that we could give of ourselves to each other - the loving, the sharing of our lives, faith and personal interests and activities and giving our full attention to one another - but that sadly, that history that we shared is over. I realized that in as much as the essence of my being wishes to cling to the love, the kindness, strength, the compassion and sweetness that he so lovingly gave, I need to accept the reality that my future no longer includes this wonderful, loving and amazing human being and that I cannot live on clinging to a memory. I need to retain the great memories he/we created and remember what he taught me - that I should never settle for less than and that I must somehow find the strength in G-d to go on and go forward, be productive and start over, if I am to survive this difficult mourning period. Right now though, I am living the one-day-at-a-time phase. https://www.instagram.com/p/CBLUlEqlot_/?igshid=3yulc5b3hdha

Take a break from the sadness of these times and in the spurit of love and support, won't you please join me in helping my friend Hichena Raphael's Dream become a reality. Hichena has unselfishly contributed her love and support throughout our entire community, including stopping by every day to look in on me and many others without compensation. She texts me and at times shows up at my door with a beautiful hot dinner prepared by her. She always surprises me. She has been my Angel friend. Please read more about how you can help and #share this #GoFundMe page with everyone you know, please. If 1,000 of us can contribute $30, we can make her dream to support her younger brothers and sisters back in Haiti and help her Mother who lives there, but is too ill to syep out if their home to work and support her babies. Hichena is the only person that her baby brothers and Sisters in Haiti, can depend upon, yet while she works to support them and her sick Mom with what little income she can barely scrimp up in the week-by-week, she continues in love, to extend herself to all who need her. As her friend and as someone whom she has helped to weather the great loss of my beloved husband in these worst of times. I will do everything in my power to bring her dream to fruition. This is no longer about me. This is about my Angel friend. Would you help me spread this link to hundreds of your friends who will help me help my Angel friend accomplish her dream, so that she can better help her family and others? Thank you so much!
