I got new watercolor paints, so I tried ‘em out on some of my characters and some flowers. I’ve never actually painted flowers before, so they’re not fantastic, but it was a lot of fun.
You’ll have to forgive my lack of activity. Work has kept me very busy as of late, and in my spare time I’m focusing more on my writing. I’m starting to feel more in the mood to draw tonight though, so maybe I’ll post something worthwhile again soon!
Another fancy notebook means another fancy drawing pasted in the first couple pages.
For a project in one of my classes, I had to pitch an idea for a reimagining of a Renaissance play that we covered, so I chose Epicene.
I’m working on a personal tarot deck, and these are a few of the sketches I’ve started. I was going to wait until it was more polished to share, but I’m waaaay too excited.
I was raised Catholic (though I don’t identify myself as one these days) and I’ve been really feeling a strong connection with Catholic imagery and history, so I’ve been incorporating that into the art. I can’t wait till it’s finished!
I’m really starting to lean into that dark academia aesthetic pretty hard right now. Finals have really been putting me in a mood.
Every time I get a new journal, it’s become a custom for me to plaster a big nice drawing on the first page.
With all that catching-up outta the way. Here’s my most recent doodle! I needed a new profile pic for my Instagram (and I bought some nice new pens) so I totally went to town on it. But anyways… I may have promised an introduction? So let’s get that out in the open right now.
Ted’s the name. Putting time and effort into big projects I never finish is my game.
My style influences are old manga, mainly The Rose of Versailles and Cardcaptor Sakura. So if you like that kind of stuff, then my stuff may be right up your alley. But with that said, I do also enjoy writing from time to time, so that kind of thing may end up here as well. Who knows. This was a spur of the moment decision. I just really wanted some kind of comprehensive catalogue of my work. Like a portfolio. It’s hard when I draw all this stuff in different books and scatter it around, and my photo albums are a nightmare. Hopefully I remember to keep this up to date!
