Cover art of Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte (1900)
Pavane pour une infante défunte (Pavane for a Dead Princess) is a work for solo piano by Maurice Ravel. It was written in 1899 while the French composer was studying at the Conservatoire de Paris under Gabriel Fauré. Ravel dedicated the Pavane to his patron, the Princesse de Polignac.
It was first published by Eugène Demets in 1900. In 1910 Ravel published an orchestral version with two flutes, an oboe, two clarinets, two bassoons, two horns, harp and strings.

Robert Casadesus – “Ravel” 10 inch album (1957)
In 1954 Philips—a Dutch electronics company—started releasing classical works as 10 inch albums with laminated cardboard covers in the Favourites-Series. This series is different from the 12 inch series launched in 1956 featuring the cover photography by Paul Huf.

From the exhibition notes:
Turbeville’s artistic signature went beyond the photographic process. She continued her experiments in the darkroom in her studio, where the prints were torn, scratched, burnt or taped. Using this process she gave brand new prints a patina, which made the works appear to come from a different age. ‘I destroy the image after I’ve made it,’ she herself said. ’The idea of disintegration is really the core of my work.’
Photocollage runs until the 16th of June 2024.

Electric Chairs, Silkscreen ink and acrylic paint on canvas (1971) by Andy Warhol
The electric chair entered Andy Warhol’s work as early as 1963 in response to the 1960s controversy surrounding the death penalty in America. Produced by a mechanical process and a manual intervention, the Electric Chair series uses a violent opposition of colours to represent killing.
