Introducing our adopted friend Lucky! He's around 3 and was found in the woods while hiking last winter, and the people who found him realized it was too dangerous keeping him with only larger birds around, so they got in touch about rehoming him... Actually on Chi Chi's birthday! So we picked him up as a present and even though Chi Chi still thinks he's a people, he likes having a friend for while we're gone at work and Lucky follows him everywhere when we let him out!
Flashback to the morning after we took Chi Chi home. I literally took him out for his first feeding in case he still needed help switching food, he wouldn't leave my hand afterward, you can hear how happy he was there and how distressed he was when I tried to get him to leave. He ended up sleeping on me and hasn't stopped thinking he was a people since.
This week we moved out of our post-fire rental and into my parents' new home. That means that Chi Chi has moved from the store to our home in Osaka, from there to Tokyo for a day, New York City for quarantine, Seattle for a weekend, Denver, and now to our new home, all before he's even a year old. That's a lot of travel for a little beep and he didn't even seem to care, as long as he gets free time and to steal our water 💧
Chi Chi survived the trip from Tokyo to US quarantine in New York, the month in quarantine, and the flight to our new home with absolutely no change to his personality or health, and is back to happy beeping like nothing happened. Good job on the big move for a little birb!
