His face shifted, a look more closely related to fear than the flirtatious gaze he had just been using to get you into his bed. You felt your heart skip a beat, and the grin you had softened a little. You know he's lying, he was just trying to get you to play along. This, though, if only it were true...

"I think you'd be lying." A small blush crept up your neck and cheeks, and you hoped the evening light kept it hidden. Might as well cut it here, you didn't want to hold onto the hope that maybe he would mean it. Still, spending the night together was better than spending it alone, and it gave you the chance to let off some steam.

His face flashed for just a moment, the reaction you couldn't make out, and his usual sultry stare and honey-coated words caught your attention.

"A beautiful lie, though, don't you think?" He once again encourages you to join him tonight, and you agree, a night of passion was too tempting than trying to figure out why he dances around his words. As you walk away, he turns back to his book, but his face shows he is paying no mind to the words on the page.

You knew they wouldn't believe you, you didn't even realize how much you really meant those words until they came from your lips. Still, the face they made when they said you were lying looked almost..sad.

Did they want you as well? It's preposterous, the idea of someone so strong and free wanting a coward that's hiding from their master and practically using them as shield to stay away from Cazador.

You sighed internally, letting the facade come back to your face, and continuing the playful flirtation. They agree to meet with you after everyone goes to sleep, and they walk away to converse with the rest of the group. You pull out a book to read, but the words disappear as you're pulled into your thoughts, thinking of them.

Maybe.. maybe soon you'll be able to tell them again and make them believe you. Maybe you'll be able to prove yourself as someone worth loving, and sweep them off their feet. But for now, let them think you're only playing with them, they don't need the extra stress of dealing with you and the feelings that follow.

Let them believe it's just a beautiful lie.
