the scariest part about being a writer? pouring your heart and soul into this one fic that has taken literal months to piece together only to have this sick feeling in your stomach like it isn’t going to be a hit. not because it isn’t good, no, it’s worthy of a pulitzer, but just because readers won’t interact.

this is my message to my readers and all the readers out there: interact with your writer’s fics. someone can leave a seven word compliment along with a reblog on one of my stories and i’ll think about it for days. writers, good writers, have stopped writing because of the lack of feedback they get. nobody should get the amount of support to the point where they feel it’s worthless to do the thing they’re doing.

The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.

Don't waste your time being too cool to have fun, y'know?

This was a tough one, not gonna lie, but I think I got there in the end. It’s not fluffy but I’m here for it (I like darker themes, what else is new lol?)

So, Im imagining Henry in some kind of accident. Think like thrown from his horse, car accident, something serious but nothing… assassination-attempt-adjacent, know what I mean? I do enough emergency training. I don’t want to write about it, tbh.

ANYWAY, he’s in the hospital, medically induced unconsciousness, and Alex is waiting by his bedside. Very much in a “don’t go where I can’t follow” vein, there’s a lot of talking to Henry, holding his hand, dreaming of him and hoping he’s woken up.

He does, eventually, wake up and Alex is ecstatic to see it. Of course, just for color, I’d have one of them say “aren’t you going to leave me a path to trace?” At least once in the story.

Because angst,

(Also if that’s a reference, I’m sorry if I missed it! I’m not good at pop culture sorts of things, so apologies, just in case!)

Oh nooo I hadn’t noticed that my cat’s automatic feeder was getting low on food so as usual she dashed off when she heard the machine start but I couldn’t hear the usual sound of her food falling into the bowl so I went to look and my poor cat was just. Sitting there. Staring at her empty food bowl. Then for a second she glanced up at me then right back to her bowl with the biggest, saddest, most bewildered eyes you could ever imagine on such a small creature. I filled her bowl and the machine right away ofc but I still feel a little guilty 😭
